Roy Jones Jr's 'prime' coincidently ended the second he faced Antonio Tarver?

Yea I agree about your points on the weight cut

I think the more damaging event event was His knockout loss to Johnson So soon after the Tarver knockout loss

That was brutal and I'm thinking he never really recovered though he did rattle off some decent wins after that

he also later dropped down even further in weight (close to 168) for his catchweight fight w/ Tito.

    this is true.

but Tarver new Roy so well in the amateurs etc. very similar to tank vs Roach.
when you can anticipate your opponents next move they are not so invincible no matter how good they are as you will know how they think & where they will be. Timing is everything.

HBO did all they could to try and secure the Dariusz fight and the Hopkins rematch.

The weight cut was absolutely the reason the first Tarver fight was so hard.

He was spent in the 9th round, even though it wasn’t a fast paced fight.

The second fight was just a beautiful shot.

Tarver would always have been problematic for Roy, due to his style and his attributes.

We should have seen the fight in 2000.

I doubt that Green himself thinks that he’d have beaten Roy in his prime.

And why would he have done that?

    How is that logical?

It’s not that nobody cares. It’s that everybody knows he’d significantly declined.

Tarver doesn’t get rated over Roy.

They’re not celebrated as historic wins.

Because everyone knows that Tarver got Roy on the decline.

So he gets credit, but not huge credit.

That was over 4 years later, and not the same as burning healthy muscle in just a 2-3 month period.

I don't think him cutting weight played that much of a factor into why he lost the second fight. I think if that were true then he should have looked terrible in the first fight. I think Tarver's style gave Roy issues and Roy just got caught. He never recovered from that loss. Sometimes fighters get knocked out and are never the same again. I think that was the case with Roy. Was he hiding a glass jaw? I don't think so. I also don't think he had some granite chin either. His chin was probably solid until Tarver cracked it.

    Denial about what?

    What exactly is your point?

90% of the posters here have refuted what the TS has said. And he’s since been banned.

Because he wanted to drop the muscle he gained from roiding to heavyweight and didn't realise how it would affect him

Nothing has been refuted. Just the same tired recycled excuses from the resident Roid Jones fanboys.
