George Foreman vs Michael Spinks

Do you want Michael Spinks to die?

 

Young George would knock Spinks out in a couple rounds.

Old George? If Spinks is in his best day, not intimidated then I can see a fairly close Spinks points win.

 

Hmmm I don’t think Spinks sees the final bell with either young or old foreman (up to Moorer). He probably wins a decision against post Moorer George.

 

If Young can outbox George, so can The Jinx.

 

I don’t see Spinks matching up well with George the Younger or George the Elder.

 

In most instances Foreman wins. There might however have been a very small window where if we took a 1985-1987 Spinks and matched him with the comeback version of George where Michael might have gotten a decision.

 

Foreman connects at some point. Spinks would have to be on his bicycle and doing a Jimmy Young. Most likely outcome is Foreman by KO. A way outside chance is Spinks on points.

 

I think vs 1994 Foreman, Spinks could have done as good as Moorer. Probably better as he wouldn't have stood in front of Foreman like Moorer did.

 

Old or young, George takes this. Young George does a Tyson and old George walks him down and stops him late.

 

That definitely changes things. If Tommy Morrison can outbox old George, than Michael Spinks certainly could and likely would. Prime George would hunt Michael down imo.

 

This version of Foreman was past his prime when he feared running out of energy like in the fight against Ali and wasn’t as fast a finisher as in 1973. Yet, he was still close to knocking out Young in the 7th round. The 1977 version of Foreman (maybe) loses on points to Spinks, but prime Foreman destroys him within two rounds.

 

Acutally, Spinks has a very good chance of pulling an UD versus 80s Foreman, as long as he STAYS AWAY and dances around the whole fight while snipping pot shots for easy points: esentially the same gameplan Moorer was using to cruise to victory until he decided to stop moving and became instant roadkill.

Same with Spinks: as soon as he stops dancing around and gets into Foreman's range, he is toast.

Versus 70s Foreman, the best that Spinks can hope is being quickly KOed so he doesn't get trashed too much.

Actually I even doubt Spinks would get into the ring at all.
This is the guy who was shaking in his gloves from Tyson's stare (who was just a poser thug wannabe).
70s George's stare would send Spinks directly into fetal postition.

 

Michael Spinks could beat him up if Foreman had an off night like against Young, but the best of Foreman would be able to use his size to overpower Spinks.
