The two fastest men I ever saw run. One was Usain Bolt in the Olympics and Jim Lampley running to a safety at MSG.

George's chin is probably so solid that if a buffoon did swing his knuckles would crack.

I recall that. If Foreman told me I didn't want to do something you can bet your bottom dollar I'd quickly find myself in complete agreement with him.

My favourite ever moment from Big George on the coms is when Lewis first dropped Grant, he screamed "he's broke his legs" and I think I'll remember that singular remark until I die.

I always loved his catchphrase "I think it's a little early to say it's too late" whenever Jim or Larry dismissed a fighter's chances of making a comeback. This became a meme on another forum where people constantly exaggerated Foreman's optimism coming up with quotes where he states the fighter can continue even after breaking an arm for instance.

Big George's optimism and positivity was infectious.

I have absolutely zero idea why I just lol'd reading this post, George, and remembering Foreman uttering those words, but I did.

It was. George viewed things from a positive standpoint. Negativity had no place in his life. I think many people gravitated to him for the same reason they gravitated to a John Wooden.

eh, Holmes is capable of being a nice guy too. If all you see him as is a bitter *****, watch his interview right after losing to Holyfield. An absolute model of sportsmanship. He didn’t make excuses. He didn’t say he was robbed. He didn’t gripe. He just talked about how damn good Holyfield was and how future opponents better look out.

y’all get the “you don’t want to do that” was a warning right? As in, keep coming, I’m gonna have to stop you.

and your regular rioting joe, getting hit by Foreman? dear god. That’s why he said “you don’t want to do that”.

It was kind of funny that after Lampley got to a safer spot, he emotionally said during the broadcast “I’ve got a teenage daughter in there, and I’m trying to see that she’s okay”.

You’re going to do that by staying in that spot and continuing the broadcast?

Yes, I understood that and as I alluded to, I'd have most certainly heeded his warning.

And now Larry becomes the oldest former heavyweight champion.
