If he had just dealt with the guy, there's a chance that a jury might have nullified his charges. But he went on a rampage and put innocent people's lives in danger during his quest for revenge. Nobody is going to look the other way over that.

Cain is an interesting what if story in mma, I think. He had some great accomplishments, but the guy clearly had some poor training in some respects. Did you ever see the video of him lifting an insane amount of weight in a leg press? It's no wonder the guy had serious knee injuries later on in his career. It's kind of shocking that a professional athlete with a strong amateur wrestling pedigree would train so dangerously like that.

The guy was definitely a physical specimen in many ways. He may not have been a heavy hitter, but he probably had the best cardio in the history of heavyweight mma. He was a great mma wrestler, was physically strong, and had a powerful will to win. I feel like he could have achieved more if he had better guidance.

I think it's because he caused public endangerment in his pursuit/firing the gun into the car with other occupants more than anything else. Even though he was clearly under duress, and acted in a way that many fathers would have in the same scenario. That reckless behavior did put innocent lives at risk at the end of the day, and that's probably why he's doing time here more than anything else. On the bright side he will likely have a very easy time in prison compared to most doing time with other inmates/guards being highly sympathetic, and it wouldn't be surprising if he got let out sooner.

Thankfully the judge had a heart and gave him the lightest possible sentence. He’ll be out in less than a year with good behaviour. I’m sure he’ll get a lot of respect inside so his time won’t be that bad.

Javier Mendez is an awful coach and ran a bunch of fighters into the ground with stupid training. There’s a video of Cain doing 200lbs cheat kettlebell swings.

Good at least he got a release date to look forward to now and his sentence seems pretty light to me. Only 1 or 2 years to go. Write a book do some interviews he will be alright.

He shot an innocent person, and is being held accountable for it.
I don´t judge him for what he did, but he screwed up.

Good man tho and I wish him the best.

Oh yeah, bro is going to be well taken care of, no doubt.

For non-violent offenses, like drug charges and whatnot, people can reduce their sentence by half if they don't get in trouble, and even more if they qualify and get placed in California's inmate forest firefighter program, also known as "Fire Camp."

Unfortunately, he will have to serve 85% of whatever he's actually sentenced to, counting time served. So while he will have to do a little stretch, he won't be in for long.
