A lot of people think that Frazier’s lack of a southpaw killing right would affect him dearly against Usyk, but what about Dempsey’s two handed onslaught?

Frazier's kryptonite was big punchers not boxers while the opposite could be said of Jack, to a degree.

That prime Frazier we saw for a very few years in the late 60's into 1971 overwhelms Usyk.

Frazier by far. Usyk would outbox Dempsey clearly, but has a very tough time against Joe

Dempsey's struggles against skilled boxers are well-documented, and Usyk would represent the most technically proficient boxer he ever faced—one who also holds a significant size advantage. This matchup would likely end poorly for Dempsey.

Frazier would fare better given his more sophisticated pressure style that had success against elite boxers. Still, I don't believe he possesses the specific tools needed to overcome Usyk's particular skillset. While Frazier would present a more competitive challenge than Dempsey, whose rough-and-tumble approach was far less refined than Frazier's more systematic pressure, he would ultimately fall short against Usyk's distance control and superior movement.

Lol! You used my exact phrase from the other thread.

Usyk and Frazier are two of my favs, and if I had to pick, it would be Usyk for exactly the reason said, but it would not surprise me if Joe dug deep down and found a path. Just two warriors.

Jack was a good man of his times, but let's be honest about how thin his resume is. He's really not in the class of Usyk or Joe, who fought the best of competitive eras. Sorry Jack, maybe you shouldn't have climbed out of the ring against Jeanette. Maybe you should have given Wills and poor old blind Langford fights.

Frazier I think was better but he’s hard to judge because Usyk never fought a come forward skilled monster like Frazier. Usyk is so damn good though. Been saying for years he could have hanged w anyone. I’m not sure he is able to keep the pace w Frazier as well paced as he is.

I feel like Usyk could beat Dempsey, but not Frazier.

    Frazier.

Frazier was extremely good at cutting off the ring. If he can cut the ring off vs a 29 year old Ali, he can cut the ring off vs Usyk. Anyone who thinks that Usyk can "manage distance" vs Frazier isn't thinking particularly hard. Usyk is going to be forced to fight off the ropes.

Frazier does not have a particularly good right hand. But his constant left hooks will reduce the effectiveness of Usyk's jab. We saw in the early rounds vs Bellew, Usyk was quite hesitant with the jab because of concerns about a big left hook coming back. Bellew eventually got tired. Frazier wouldn't.

Usyk is an ATG and has fought a wide range of styles. But he has rarely fought great left hookers. And certainly not someone who c an throw as many as Frazier. It would take away his jab and force him to throw his left more. And this would play into Frazier's game.

    Frazier UD for me.

Dempsey has the speed and two handed power but struggled with movers. And Usyk has a significant size advantage. I think Usyk beats him.

Frazier excelled vs boxers where as Dempsey's only fight against a modern styled boxer in Tunney he lost 19 out of 20 rounds although to be fair Dempsey was past his prime.

Regardless I think a peak Frazier beats Usyk I think an ATG elite swarmer is the worst style match up for Usyk along with Tyson at his peak.

Frazier whoops him, but if Dempsey walks 30 miles across a desert to fight him for $20 it might be a more severe whooping

Dempsey's struggle against Tunney was after a three year layoff. Prior to that Gene wouldn't have ever went in against Dempsey. If Usyk could make it to later rounds he has a shot at a decision but he's never faced anyone with the pressure and intensity of a prime Dempsey, Jack takes him in 5 or less.
Frazier also most likely wrecks Usyk but it's a longer fight as it took time for Joe to start Smokin.
The onyl wild card is Usyk's southpaw stance, I don't believe either Jack or Joe ever fought a southpaw.

Exactly. I would say Fraizer and Tyson would be tougher opponents to beat for Usyk than Lewis, Wlad and even Larry Holmes

    Styles make fights.
And Both Dempsey and Frazier had the styles to give a fighter like Usyk pure hell.
Usyk hasn't faced a aggressive and skilled opponents on the level of those two.
Especially when considering the endurance levels of both men.
Both Dempsey and Frazier wouldn't lose steam if they loss the first five or six rds.
Their aggression and tactics wouldn't deviate.
The question would be could Usyk keep pace.
I don't believe he could, especially against the bigger, stronger, and more relentless Frazier.
Usyk wines down about the 6th -7th rd.
In a 12rd fight he might survive against Dempsey and win.
No way he survives against Frazier, even in a 12 rounder.
Fraziers relentlessness, size, skill, speed, and power would be the ultimate bane against Usyk.
I don't believe he gets past 10rds against him.

Usyk couldn't keep Frazier off him with a claw hammer
