heavyweight. I know Breidis did not technically fight at heavyweight but i was wondering about this since Huck gave Povetkin quite a fight.
Boxing math Povetkin imo lost to Huck, Huck got battered by Briedis Briedis batters Povetkin! But honestly I'd probably slightly favour Briedis, great chin and hes just a more complete boxer
I think that Povetkin had and off night against Huck but also that was a prime Huck who was very tough. Povetkin Briedis would've been a great fight I can see scenario's with either guy winning. I love Briedis though I reckon he is one of the most underrated fighters in recent times not only is he tough and powerful but he had a great skillset.
I like Mairis as much as the next guy, but Povetkin was an animal - would not shock me if Sasha stops him late. Povetkin KO or UD
PED Povetkin gets a close decision win, clean Povetkin gets beaten. As for the Huck fights, lets bare in mind Povetkin fought a prime Huck, Huck was on the decline by the time he got to Breidis.
Not defending PED's as i think they are terrible and anyone caught should be punished. But i am wondering how many modern dudes are not on PED's.
He actually did fight at heavyweight and shares a common opponent with Povetkin in Charr. They both beat the crap out of him.
The fact Povetkin was a cruiser in size and fought at HW the whole time with about the same success or more suggests he's better. As for he PED thing with him, at least one of the convictions was a joke, it was the over the counter med legal for years. The equivalent of the nasal spray one from Saunders where it wasn't even serious enough to be banned in the UK. The other one was more serious, I think it was a trace of ostarine. The stuff after the Russian war can't be taken seriously whether or not it's true. It comes from the same part of the world that wanted to ban Russian civilians from all international sport. In general it's clearly ridiculous that Povetkin is now the worse PED cheat ever for an ostarine bust when there are people still on circuit who've done far more serious roids and people who've never been busted officially like Beterbiev but have 'strange' levels of HGH and testosterone, again far more serious PED use.
Briedis has maybe the best chin in all of boxing. He also gave Usyk his toughest fight. He’s straight up better than Povetkin.
