1. Foreman 2. Lewis 3. Tyson 4. Louis 5. Liston 6. I am still thinking about spots 6-10 for now. Remember right uppercuts only so Ruddock's left wouldn't count.
I always thought Morrison had an underrated one. Fury has a pretty damn good one too. Ask Whyte. Riddick Bowe’s was nasty.
The three at the top are easy picks IMO Tyson, Louis and Walcott IMO then Lewis and whoever else you want in there.
I am thinking Bowe at 6, maybe Buster Douglas at #7, Jack Johnson somewhere in there at #8 as he was known for this punch, and then i will need to choose between Morrison, Mercer, Joshua, Holmes and Fury for the remaining 2 spots. Still thinking hard about this.
This content is protected One of the greatest displays of all time, and yes the left counts because he's a southpaw.
Tyson and Foreman, naturally, came to mind first. Lennox had an excellent one. He could use the Tyson combo and set it up with body shots (the Mercer fight). He was real sneaky at holding and hitting too. Most fighters have their tricks, such as Holyfield with his “deliberate accidental headbutt”, Tyson with hitting after the bell, Pedroza/Floyd/Spinks with the elbows & forearms, Bruno with rabbit punches, etc….Lennox’s speciality was holding the back of the guy’s neck with his left hand and hitting him with the right uppercut. Sometimes it was more obvious (Grant, Bruno), but other times, he was sneakier with it. Just watch the 2nd round against Tyson. Bowe was great at those uppercuts up close. He was really polished on the inside. There was also one sequence I liked in the rubber match with Holyfield where he hit Evander with a double right uppercut. I loved watching Bowe work up close. Shavers had a vicious right uppercut too.
Michael Moorer out of the southpaw stance threw a powerful uppercut. Converted Southpaw his right was his powerhand.
#01: Lewis #02: Louis #03: Tyson #04: Foreman #05: Bowe #06: Walcott #07: Holmes #08: Liston #09: Shavers #10: Joshua
1. Foreman 2. Lewis 3. Tyson 4. Louis 5. Liston 6. Bowe 7. Douglas 8. Shavers 9. Joshua 10. Holmes Honourable mention: Fury, Jack Johnson, Walcott and a few others i am forgetting right now.
Lewis's really impressed me in the Mercer fight. The right hook right uppercut combo was Tyson's signature and to see Lewis using it fluently was surprising.
Spot on post. I also agree about that Lewis combination. His four punch combination when he landed the right to the body-right uppercut-left hook-right hand was formidable. He also used it against Holyfield in the 1st fight, finished Phil Jackson with it and landed it on Mike Dixon too. By the way, a lot of 90's fighters seemed inspired by that Tyson's combo : Bowe, Lewis, Morrison (with an added left hook) and Cooper.
