Stevenson Vs Kovalev is the fight that should have happened.

Stevenson would have had nothing more than a puncher's chance against Ward or Kovalev.

Dre obviously saw it as too risky fight because he shamelessly ducked him

Stevenson was a dangerous puncher but one dimensional who seemed to overly rely on his left hand. Ward would have taken away Stevenson’s main weapon and school him badly.

Now had Kovalev not gotten robbed and rightly won a decision against Ward in the first fight we might have gotten a Kovalev vs Stevenson fight which would have made for a more exciting fight. That’s the fight that got away.

LOL, that is completely delusional. Who did Ward KO without his patented SOG headbutt? A near prime Gvozdyk, superior in every way to Ward, stopped Adonis late.

Sure, Ward would rough Adonis up in close where he would be in a safe range for the deadly left hand, but I don't see a KO. Just a drawn out dirty decision.

    * I just realised that post was in 2016, so maybe a lack of available information.

Kovalev in his prime would have been as good as Gvozdyk. Do the math. Stevensen wanted none of that beatdown.
