    Mayweather,Jr. vs Corrales was an utterly dominant time capsule performance against a fellow undefeated champion. Shockingly one-sided. Floyd looked unbeatable at 130 that night.

    Jones, Jr. vs Toney, a fight I expected to be very competitive and close, was not. Jones was so blazing fast and strong it was awe inspiring.

    Same with Crawford vs. Spence. The two best in the division met and Crawford was utterly dominant and in control throughout against a fellow undefeated.

    Wilfredo Gomez was undefeated, and other than his pro debut, a 6-rd draw, he had knocked out every one of his opponents. He and Salvador Sanchez were expected to go at it in a war, but it turned out that Sanchez had his number from the start.

    Michael Nunn vs Frank Tate. In my opinion, Nunn displayed one of the most complete performances in this fight against an Olympian gold medalist that beat him twice already in the amateurs, yet put on a boxing masterclass ending by stoppage. Peak Nunn was something else. Definitely deserves being inducted in the HoF this year.

    Great shouts here. Many I’d add were already mentioned, so I’ll add Donald Curry KO 4 Colin Jones. Not only was he extremely sharp, Curry showed great headiness in realizing the canvas was slow and spongy, so decided to remain fairly stationary and rip fast, hard combos through Jones’ guard. He sliced him up like 147 pounds of cold cuts. Beautiful performance.

    It's Sugar Ray Robinson's destruction of Jake Lamotta in the Saint Valentine's day massacre. Robinson's brilliance that day cannot be overstated IMO, it's perfect watching for something like the mix of how much he puts on his punches, but what always stands out for me is those right hands round the corner to Jake's body. This is Robinson's solution to Jake's bull-rushes, to Jake outsizing him and it's a great adjustment that worked flawlessly and led to his stopping of Jake. Everything he does in that fight is with purpose and skill and I love it.

    I love the mention of Napoles vs Cokes.

    RJJ vs Toney a good shout too, from the perspective that I've not seen a 168lbs or less fighter on film I'd favour to beat the Jones of that night.

    From a p4p perspective and factoring in the quality of the opponent, I'll go for Duran vs SRL. Duran vs Palomino wasn't far behind, though.

    I disagree, or at least the evidence is mixed.

    The fight before he met Robinson, LaMotta stopped Laurent Dauthuille in fifteen rounds in the fight of the year which included the arguably the finest moment of his career in defence of the middleweight title. The fight before that he thrashed Tiberio Mitri who was on a thirty fight win streak (one draw in there). He was anything but passed it, arguably absolutely primed - but it is true that post-Robinson VI, Lamotta was considerably weaker. It's not absolutely impossible that it was Laurent and not Robinson that finished him, but Lamotta was absolutely superb in one, two, five and six, as good as he's ever appeared on film in those rounds IMO.

    So I think it was Robinson that finished him.

    Either way, it doesn't matter because Robinson is still the best at doing boxing i've ever seen in that fight.
