Think he'll be a fringe contender type of fighter? Or do you think he'll be able to go further than that and maybe even potentially become a champion. He took the right time to step up honestly. He's raw and young but he managed to take the fight too and overcome adversity against the bigger man with mileage in Vianello and won albeit by the skin of his teeth. If his trainers focus on his shortcomings I honestly think he can become pretty special. Remember even the greats of the past struggled with lesser fighters such as Ali vs Cooper and Doug Jones. I think he should fight a Jermaine franklin type of fighter next another guy that'll take him rounds.

A Franklin fight would make sense for Torrez - it is the sort of fights he, Jalolov and Itauma should be taking. Vianello was a good test for Torrez and would be a good test for any prospect.

I don't like how often Torrez gets hit when he gets to the inside relying on his chin too much at times, and he is easy to clinch too and predictable in his attacks. Also, he is a little small for a HW and a bigger guy can bully Torrez based on how Torrez fights.

Someone with a solid jab that moves well will give him a lot of problems. He gets hit a lot

I think he is more like 6'1 and anyone in the top 5 or so probably trashes him.

As much as he wants to be like Marciano or Tyson, he doesn't have the power or technique, but we will see about the chin

I can see him picking up a belt, but don't think he will go far. He's small and gets hit way too often. He don't know how to avoid pinches at the inside game

He's young and very entertaining yes. and he also got plenty of time improve, buz still I think he's limited to be an elite

Vianello was a big step up for him. It was not an easy fight. But that was to be expected in all honesty. You can’t have it both ways. He got to keep fighting Vianello level competition his next 3 fights.

Does he beat Ajagba? I’m not so sure. A long, consistent jab will give him **** load of trouble.

Rough style! I don't think he will be a problem for better fighters with technique and superior proportions for the weight class. The way he hits too make me think hand issues won't be far off.

Unless he drastically improves or stays at this level of opposition his future is a maximum B level fighter. And about this fight,,I thought Vianello looked awful and Torrez appeared to be sucking air around the 5th and 6th round just using some lunging in tactics that against a better fighter gets him zapped...

he doesn't have good footwork. He isn't 6'2 either. The guy is barely 6 feet. You need extraordinary footwork at that level if you want to compete as a 6 foot heavyweight.

The good thing about a fight like this is that it actually tells us a lot about said fighter. Torrez in this fight showed he could take a punch, Fight through adversity, Go 10 rounds, Beat a good big man, and he hurt Vianello a couple of times proving that his power can at least earn the respect of the bigger heavyweights. Since he's still young he and his trainers can make an improvement on his deficiencies which could make him a better all around fighter. A good win with difficulty is much better than looking like the goods actually a bunch of cans. And IMO Torrez is better than Itauma until proven otherwise.
