Here are the lists of heavyweight rankings from various sanctioning bodies + Ring magazine. These were edited for the last time in early April before the Joyce-Hrgovic fight. Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois are the current champions and have thus been excluded from the lists of sanctioning bodies. The Ring does list Dubois though.

    WBA:
    1. Fabio Wardley
    2. Michael Hunter
    3. Moses Itauma
    4. Jarell Miller
    5. Lenier Pero
    6. Martin Bakole
    7. Filip Hrgovic
    8. Mahmoud Charr
    9. Murat Gassiev
    10. Johnny Fischer

    WBC:
    1. Lawrence Okolie
    2. Anthony Joshua
    3. Fabio Wardley
    4. Efe Ajagba
    5. Martin Bakole
    6. Frank Sanchez
    7. Zhillei Zhang
    8. Bakhodir Jalolov
    9. Filip Hrgovic
    10. Mourad Aliev

    IBF:
    1. Not Rated
    2. Derek Chisora
    3. Efe Ajagba
    4. Frank Sanchez
    5. Anthony Joshua
    6. Filip Hrgovic
    7. Justis Huni
    8. Fabio Wardley
    9. Moses Itauma
    10. Martin Bakole

    WBO:
    1. Justis Huni
    2. Moses Itauma
    3. Fabio Wardley
    4. Zhilei Zhang
    5. Lawrence Okolie
    6. Jared Anderson
    7. Anthony Joshua
    8. Derek Chisora
    9. Murat Gassiev
    10. Jermaine Franklin

    IBO:
    1. Joseph Parker
    2. Tyson Fury
    3. Agit Kabayel
    4. Anthony Joshua
    5. Fabio Wardley
    6. Zhilei Zhang
    7. Derek Chisora
    8. Martin Bakole
    9. Lawrence Okolie
    10. Justis Huni

    Ring:
    1. Tyson Fury
    2. Daniel Dubois
    3. Joseph Parker
    4. Agit Kabayel
    5. Anthony Joshua
    6. Zhilei Zhang
    7. Martin Bakole
    8. Filip Hrgovic
    9. Fabio Wardley
    10. Efe Ajagba

What do you think about the various rankings? Do you see any sense in WBA's list? Is it fair for the Ring magazine to still list Tyson Fury as the #1 ranked challenger whilst leaving out a somewhat resurgent Derek Chisora from the top ten? Do Okolie, Huni and Itauma deserve a very high place? Whose list is the best?

The Ring's list is the only one that seems to make any sense.

No, they're not mad, their acting logically and rewarding the people who pay them. Guys pay to fight for their titles. Regional titles first and then the real ones. The rest is done through relationships with promoters and managers. The WBA rankings always make sense - but they have nothing to do with the sport of boxing.

    Never have.

LOL Chisora is still top 10 on some of those. Vitali's win aged well :D

The sanctioning bodies' rankings make more sense than the Ring rankings. In the sense that there is a logic behind it of fighters fighting for various regional and lesser titles against the opposition at that level to make their way into the rankings and by giving fees to the sanctioning bodies to boost their rankings. The Ring is just Saudi-payed journalists arguing over arbitrary qualities like resume and H2H ability at the end of the day.

It's so stratified they almost look like different boxing leagues like in MMA with Bellator, UFC, and K1 or whatever.

That's it in a nutshell. Nice to see such a clear, perceptive and accurate explanation of how the rating systems of these parasitic alphabet orgs actually work!

In short, if you're looking for the underlying "logic" for what are clearly absurd rankings based on actual athletic merit - follow the money!

Only The Ring makes sense and I think is pretty good but why do they keep omitting Chisora?

    My own:

    1. Dubois
    2. Kabayel
    3. Parker
    4. Joshua
    5. Zhang
    6. Chisora
    7. Hrgovic
    8. Bakole
    9. Joyce
    10. Wardley

Yes Joyce lost his fights to Chisora and Hrgovic but he was competitive. Can you say with certainty that anyone ranked below him would have done better?

Joshua needs to get on with it or he will be dropping down the list real fast.

Ring obviously the best. IBO has better rankings than all of the major organisations.

The top rated contenders from each sanctioning body

    Wardley
    Okolie
    Chisora (there is no #1)
    Huni

The sooner these orgs are a thing of the past the better

    Boxing is such a joke.

6 different rankings, for a combined 25 fighters that are considered "top 10" in the world.

Wish Turki would just outright buy the clown show that is the WBA and then set all their belts on fire.

It's a sad state of affairs when you look to tyrants like Dana and Turki in the hope that they'll clean up the sport, but when I see this stuff, that's genuinely where I'm at.
