Not sure I agree with all of those. But even so there's not a wide field of young capable heavyweights. Even a half assed disinterested Jalolov might have enough to win a belt post Usyk.

Whilst I'd still regard him as one of the better prospects considering his amateur record. He has taken the mickey out of the pros, shown very little interest in stepping it up and that he fears his amateur style won't translate well into the pros.

Its defo not over for Jalolov but it has been rather unimpressive from him so far.

The Pero brothers are decent prospects too IMO. Torrez maybe, he showed some flaws last night.

It's been a revolving door of high-level amateurs who have uninspired as professionals, and we saw five of them yesterday.

I can't get excited for this guy. He fights like a lesser Wlad, doing what he needs to do to win and nothing else. He has no versality to his game because he hasn't needed it. Bounce, jab and backhand. Stay away and repeat. Terribly boring for someone who can punch. Just like Wlad.

No, he isn't. One-handed fighter who doesn't set up his big punch.

Division is better off without him.

Wait!!! If it wasn't for Western bias and judges and tariffs and the very manifestation of toxic masculinity, the dreaded Orange Man, Jalalala would have wrecked Ali, Tyson (both of em) Big George and Usyk and Joe Louis and LL and every corrupt, useless Western heavy there ever was. All of the actual best fighters that ever existed were born and died within the Warsaw Pact and nobody ever heard of em' because CIA.

    Wtf?

I think his team has been moving slowly BECAUSE they know he isn't that good, at least for the pro games. He has bad stamina, possible suspect chin and worst of all, I think he lacks heart. I reckon he'll go out like Price when they finally put him in with a live body.

Please see the comments of Teremoana, Jalolov's opponent in the quarterfinals of the Paris Olympics and the quarterfinals of the IBA World Championships, and the blogger's reply in the link above. What I want to say is forget about Jalolov, he is not that good. After winning the second gold medal in Paris Olympics, he announced his retirement from amateur boxing to focus on professional boxing. After winning the first gold medal a few years ago, he said in an interview that he was called a hero in Uzbekistan; but he felt that he was not yet qualified for this position, but once he became the undisputed heavyweight champion, then he will be qualified. At the athlete commendation meeting after the Olympics, Jalolov told the president that his current goal was to win four professional boxing belts, but his professional progress was still slow. There was no news of professional competition until November 2024, and the competition on February 6, 2025 was cancelled because the doctor did not allow Jalolov to compete because Jalolov often got herpes on his mouth when he flew to other regions and countries. Igor, the opponent of 4.5, said in an interview after the fight that he received the contract only four days before the game, and it took him 22 hours to arrive in Astana, Kazakhstan, the venue of the game. He had no time to participate in the public weigh-in and no time to study Jalolov and prepare for the fight. Even though Jalolov's left hand was injured in the second round and he knocked Igor down in the third round, his performance in the game was still very poor. He was too monotonous and easy to be predicted. He was afraid of being hit and lack of killer instinct. He didn't have good Jab. In addition, the last few rounds even became a wrestling match. Stamina was too bad. What really disappointed me about him was that he was interviewed by BoxNews on March 21 and revealed that he had the idea of winning the third gold medal to create history. Even though the overall performance of rookies in the professional boxing heavyweight class is not ideal, Jalolov has not shown his conquering power. And I am sure that if he competes with Prime Joe Joyce, he will still lose to Joyce. The match with Igor also proved that he has always been not good at dealing with the pressure of his opponents, and his psychologic is insufficient. It is a fact that there has been a shortage of talents in the amateur boxing super heavyweight class since 2016. Who will be the head coach of Jalolov's professional competitions in the future? Now he lived in Uzbekistan, he prepared with the national team members. I don't think this is good for his career. There are videos online of Mashianov, the coach of Bivol in 2022, training Jalolov's Jab. Joel Diaz did not perform well in coaching Madrimov against Vergil Ortiz. He is also Jalolov's long-term coach since he started professional boxing. Unless he can completely transform, I am sure that his future opponents will repeatedly watch and study the videos of Jalolov vs Joyce and Jalolov vs Igor. This is boxing, not an inspirational movie. How far can a person who wants both and lacks sufficient strength go? You can't win the third Olympic gold medal and become the Undisputed Heavyweight Champion at the same time. Professional boxing is a pure competition of ability and strength, not to mention that Jalolov's game is too boring. Hasanboy Dusmatov took over as the captain of the Uzbek national boxing team after Jalolov retired from amateur boxing last year. In a previous interview, he said that his main goal was to win the third gold medal, and he would also strive to win the professional boxing gold belt. Another person who wants both. So, people think they are unique before being educated by reality.

“Better off without” a two time Olympic Gold Medalist who’s a rare southpaw with a nasty straight left??

Nahh I disagree with that! Maybe he’s nothing to write home about in the pro’s. Maybe he will be! But there are some FUN fights to make with him to see what he’s got!

**** I’d rather find out than not! What’s the division got to lose?!

Interesting and fun fight! I’d actually lean Roberto in this one early on is up on points but gets zapped with that left late in an exchange and dropped. That KD costs him the fight. That left of Jalolov’s is being underrated.

BTW… He beat Joshua in London imo. Many shots he landed weren’t scored.

He's the kind of guy that is always going to be holding things up. I would rather have a fighter who fights. Too many of these prima donna's over the years.
