Let's say Big George gets a close decision over Brigg's.

Despite talks of retirement he signs to fight Golota.
Now Golota had those bruising fights with Bowe, then smashed in 1 by Lewis.

    What happens?

He retires. He was a smart man. He didn't want Lewis and i doubt he wanted the likes of Tua and Ibeabuchi either. He might have managed to fight Holmes for a farewell fight but even that was high risk.

At most, he might have entertained the idea of someone similar to Briggs - lacking in skill and movement. But any remotely slick fighter was too slick for old George and any powerful skilled fighter was too good.

I coudln't see him taking a Golota fight. He fought Briggs because he knew he's just have to get through a few rounds and then he'd have a gassed and inexperienced fighter in front of him.

I could see a Holmes fight (except Foreman might have avoided it due to the risk), Bonecrusher, Brian Nielson, a Briggs rematch, or maybe Botha on the riskier side.

the holmes fight was set to happen in 1999 but didn't happen due to purse payment issues.

But what if he had taken a Golota fight?
This is what I'm asking, what's the result?

Wasn't Foreman thinking of coming back again in the 2000s (around 2003-04ish) but his wife made him rethink?

George might have beaten Golata but honestly that’s not a fight I would have liked to see him take at that point. He didn’t need to get with those big shots and Golata was fighting dirty. Foreman did the right thing by retiring

A hate to say it, but Briggs getting the win was better for the division.

Maybe he takes on Bowe at some point, or Tyson? For the payday, at least. Stylistically, he'd have the best chance against them, better than other payday names, because Bowe was a plodder/attacker who rarely took a backwards step, and Tyson was an attacker too, and we know Foreman only lost to movers/boxers/grabbers/smotherers. Bowe and Tyson would stand right there and punch it out with him, which means they would be right there to get hit and hit hard. BUT, George also would have a chance at being hurt too, because they still were younger, and Tyson was faster and hit pretty hard/explosively himself, and Bowe had the better punch volume and still was a very big 6'5" guy with heavy hands too. Therein lies the rub, so to speak. But I'm not sure they had better chins at that point in their careers than Foreman. Anyone who could move, George was always going to struggle. Which is why he never wanted Lewis - height, reach, speed, power, and he could MOVE and clinch. But duke it out with him, he's got a chance with ANYONE. I'm not sure Foreman would have wanted Golota for the simple fact that he knew if he hit him really hard, as he likely would, Golota probably either quits outright, or nails him in the balls (and George liked fathering children), or he viciously head butts him. I don't think Foreman wanted to be a part of such a debacle.

His interview after the Briggs fight was the stuff of legend.

Golota beats that version of Foreman. Golota was busy and capable of moving…Foreman wouldn’t land more than one punch at a time. I love Big George but I’m honestly shocked he looked that good against Briggs.

It seems if he won he'd already promised to fight Lennox and that was the logical finale for his career. I think at that point its either fight Lennox or retire.

That was specifically to fight David Tua. Think it was 2002.

Haha Foreman vs Golota, something tells me George ends up with crushed nuts, he still gets the win via dq.
