Jones Jr by decision. Beterbiev has been knocked down twice by left hooks. Jones Jr. had the best light-heavyweight left hook i have seen since Bob Foster. Once Beterbiev tastes Jones's speed and power, he will be more reluctant to attack. Beterbiev has a habit of moving back when attacked instead of staying in the pocket, slipping and countering. Jones has to be extremely careful. If he gets caught by huge shots, he will need to get on his bike to survive and clear his head. Beterbiev's superb jab and fundementals will keep him in the fight but Jones's lead right hands will score big and his lightning quick left hooks will stagger the incoming Beterbiev. Jones Jr. wins a decision while surviving a few rocky moments.
Either Roy outboxes him and wins a comfortable 12-0 decision Or Artur catches him, and it's goodnight
@Seamus this is another scenario where “Big” James would outshine Roy ay? Man the way Tarver just shattered Roy’s prime into a thousand pieces was just Marciano like.
Uh, who's prime did Marciano ever shatter? Rex Layne? Bestill my beating heart. So, Roy being 15 years in to his pro career and being a guy who relied purely on athleticism and reflexes got caught when those attributes started to fade? Who coulda thunk that would happen? And 15 years is twice the entire career of say, Marciano. After the Ruiz fight Roy was in the conversation as The GOAT, as being better than SRR. And even if I didn't agree, dudes who were well respected were putting it forth. Nice try but back to the drawing board for you.
You know the ledgers better than me, Marciano ruined guys it’s a fact just like Tarver. The “debatable” GOAT was beat by “Sugar” Tarver at only 35 coming fresh off Ruiz? A guy who looked after himself great, juiced up and fought HBO’s pin line up he aged over night? What’s his top 5 wins Seamus? Artur gets Roy and Toney gets Artur, Roy gets a version of Toney doe just not a good one.
A prime RJJ doesn't run he's always in punching range and has blistering handspeed and immense power. Beterbiev is very hittable and is a basic come forward fighter he would be getting lit up like a Christmas tree.
Jones vs the Betebiev of 10 years ago would be an intriguing matchup. Anything could happen. Jones vs the version that fought Bivol would be a clear victory for Jones.
Jones would dismantle then stop Beterbiev. It'd be one of those fights that's seen as dangerous before the fight then downplayed when Jones wins every round.
