I hope that Hrgovic will find himself in a position to fight a fighter against whom he will be an underdog, because he has to accept a high-risk fight against a world-class fighter if he gets that opportunity...

If I was a professional fighter I sure would not you in my camp being ‘realistic’ all the time.

He does come off as one of those ultra talented guys that just got bored with it somewhere along the way yes.

Hrgovic is not, and never will be, a legit contender.

He's not at fringe contender level, either - it's unlikely he'll ever get there.

These facts don't mean he can't be successful and make good money...
But failing to acknowledge them, expecting bigger fights than he's earned and asking for bigger cuts than he's worth - all of those things will hold back his ability to earn the best living he possibly could.

Living in a fantasy world is not a recipe for success.

Living in reality and working hard is how you get places... The reason Hrgovic has had a slow burn career appears to be precisely because he's done neither of of those things so far - sitting around on a mandatory, not training hard enough...

Yes he was acting pretty entitled before when the Saudis just did come on the scene and he was supposedly next in line for the IBF.

I'd favor Hrgo to win on points v White and Bakole and Ruiz. Bakole would be the toughest but I still don't rate Bakole (the sparring GOAT) very highly, the big fatty.

Aj would be tough but probably the most interesting match up. I'd favor AJ but AJ is unpredictable for me because I dislike the guy and this always colours my judgement.

Wardley is also interesting to me because there's a lot of unknowns around Wardley's ceiling.

Kabayel I suspect would beat Hrgo handily. He's shown he can take a shot from Zhang so he can take a shot from Hrgo. He'd wear him down with body shots quite quickly.

I don't want to see him fight Zhang again.

Youre too harsh on Hrgovic, he has 1 (one) loss against the heir apparent in Dubois. He has wins against Zhang and Joyce, both contenders/fringe contenders. And he was giving Dubois a bit of a shlacking early on as well. So while sure Hrgo might not be world class he is ver y good and, as others have pointed out, there will be opportunities for him to at least fight for a belt.

I look at his right and how accurate it is, how good he is at landing it. There’s some real talent in his timing and sense of distance with it. If he built everything else out with that same accuracy and timing…

Chisora. He'd probably become an IBF mandatory or number 1 contender if he beat him.

I'm not sure I am... I'm not saying he's total trash and will never win again - I just don't think he's top level at all.

Zhang is 3-3-1 against top 200 fighters - if he doesn't get the KO, he's pretty awful on points (as failing to beat Jerry Forrest shows).

Joyce is a ghost of his former self, and he was overhyped at his best... In his current state, it'd be embarrassing if Hrgovic had lost - and he didn't look as comfortable as he should've with Joyce's state.

Dubois... Yes, he had a decent start, but Dubois' biggest weaknesses to date have been heart and durability... Hrgovic landed loads, but couldn't get Dubois to quit - again speaks against him having the kind of power that'd help offset his limited point scoring ability.

I honestly think he's got career gatekeeper written all over him - he's just too limited overall and too disinterested both in earning a better position in the mix and training hard enough to be anywhere near what he could theoretically be.

Not a legit contender ? What kind of nonsense is this ? He performed way better than aj did against Dubois until the headbutts caught up to him and arguably better than Parker against Zhang despite having far less experience than both. Did a better job against Joyce than Chisora, this fight wasn't close. Hrgovic is clearly top 10, there aren't 10 fighters who would be favored over him.

He beats Parker and Whyte, demolished Whyte in 6, keeps Parker at the end of the stick with right hands. Kabayel is probably going to smash Parker too, resumes don't win fights

He already is a legit contender by virtue of beating Zhang.

If he's not a legit contender neither was Joshua
