This content is protected I have been watching this and its very telling. Usyk landed the cleaner shots in the vast majority of rounds and landed more. I already saw the same thing in real time but the slow motion just confirms it.
The first fight was closer and tougher for usyk. This looks closer because of the lack of big drama and them not hurting each other Fury had his chance in the first fight, but usyk figured him out by round 7-8 This fight was not as close as some think. Usyk also said the first fight was tougher Usyks defence was much improved. Fury wasn't landing clean often
Fury was winning the fight until the 8th round imo. As you said, Usyk figured him out, plus Fury gassed out. All these consistent left hands Usyk was landing from the first round onwards also took a toll. I think nobody can beat Usyk in the 12th round fight. Briedis was the closest to do it but failed. You need to try to knock him out in the first 6 and either do it or go out on your shield. I thought Fury was going to do that in the rematch. He didn't and was outboxed again. He boxed very good in the rematch but without the flashes of brilliance he had in the first fight.
You think it is impossible for anyone in history to win a decision in a 12 round fight? That's your opinion, I heavily disagree, but agree with the rest of your post If breidis came close, others could
Fury was only winning the first fight until mid way through the 7th round. Usyk started taking over half way through round 7 and completely took round 8. Also, Usyk won 2 of the first 3 rounds of the first fight. Even round 4 was competitive. The narrative that Fury was dominating the first fight through 8 rounds makes little sense.
I saw it as Uysk winning 2 of the first 3. Then Fury winning 4 to 7 but both 4 and 7 were competitive. Then Uysk takes over easily in 8-10. 11-12 is again competitive but Uysk probably has the nod. I actually had it 114-113 at the time which was far closer than most admittedly and possibly generous to Fury.
Yeah, the first fight was obviously more dramatic and punishing but viewing both fights as a combined package, the overall quality was very high imo. Not always the case when including rematches in the overall assessment. I think we as fans definitely got our money’s worth. I guess people might argue that Ali-Frazier II was still of a certain high standard but it paled in comparison to the FOTC.
