The truth is that the Jofre we saw in both Harada fights wouldn't be able to beat Gomez.

The Jofre we saw in the first Medel fight, yeah he might beat Gomez.

No, Arcel never worked with Gomez. When Gomez was training in Panama, he was training under Plomito Espinosa, Plomo’s brother.

Jofre was on a really strict diet for the rematch and trained far too much to the point of over training hence why he was a few lbs under the limit to the point of looking somewhat sick. He just couldn’t make weight which had been a struggle for him for over half a decade. But, back then, there was no 122, which Eder said he felt would have been his ideal weight.

That’s true. He wasn’t peak bantamweight Jofre by then. By the same token, the same Gomez who was hittable and struggling with Pintor wouldn’t be able to beat the peak version of Jofre.

Did you ever get a chance to ask Jofre his own thoughts on a fight with Gomez, Chris?

I agree, it seems strange to pick against Gomez at 122 pounds ,, but with Jofre as an opponent it's doable. I wouldn't put a large amount of money on either man.

No, I never really bring up mythical fights with fighters.
