Not even close to a 50/50.

Fury took Wilders best shots and survived. He destroyed Wlad where as Joshua went life and death with him. Fury desroyed Wilder 2nd time, Joshua would not be able to do that IMO.

Fury would be too fast, too skilled and has the chin and stamina to last throughout a fight, where as Joshua has a limited gas tank.

    Fury 9/10.

If it’s the versions that both fought Klitschko, I’d say Fury gets off the floor to win a unanimous decision

Fury didn’t “destroy” Wlad. He outpointed him by a very narrow margin in the majority of rounds to earn a boring decision.

Well you can also say that AJ destroyed Ngannou and Wallin and Fury went life and death with them and could lose both of these fights.

Well you can also say that Joshua has been literally destroyed on 2 occasions, while Fury always climbed off the canvas

Wlad did a bit better that given credit for. I had it 115-112 Fury.

Fury was unbelievable on his feet that night. He came in lighter and fitter than he does currently.

Sure. But he was destroyed by guys Fury didn't even fight, so we can't compare their performances.

sure, but we can say Fury was never destroyed at all and that matters
Aj never fought Wilder and chisora either. You are as sure of AJ beating them as I am of Fury beating Ruiz and Dubuois

Fact of the matter is, Fury has always seen the final bell. We have the controversy of Usyk, but at the end of the day Fury lasted 12, as he always recovers

    I agree. This matters.

And Fury never fought Povetkin and Parker. I'm not sure about AJ beating Wilder tho. I always had it as a 50/50 fight with slight lean towards a certain fighter depending on the time period.

Yes, his recovery powers are amazing. But he was close to being stopped in the first Usyk fight and Wallin bout could end on the TKO from the cut if he wasn't the lineal champion at the time. But the fact is, Fury is more durable than AJ.

Good post and I agree it's difficult to compare without similar opponents
It's a pity they never fought before Usyk came on to the scene. As much as I do favour a prime Fury, I think it was his side that was making it difficult. Aj wanted the fight more

Fury and always Fury, more versatible, better array of punches. Enough power to hurt AJ and keep him down.
Aj would have his moments for sure, but he doesn't like speed, and Fury can use his lighter arm punches to keep him occupied.

I flip back on fourth on this question all the time. But, the main consensus I come to is: Joshua by mid-late rounds TKO/KO after losing the majority of the rounds.

The way it usually plays out in my head is:

Fury with his technical ability and speed causes Joshua fits and sweep rounds. But inevitably Joshua is going to land at least a few power punches, leading to an onslaught that I don't think Fury's chin or recovery abilities will be able stand up to.

It was easy for him to do against someone like Wilder when he got knocked down, because Wilder was uncontrollably windmilling. I think Joshua's more calculated offense wouldn't give Fury a chance to recover and lead to a TKO/KO

Would you say that Joshua is a composed and ferocious finisher?

Is throwing a rear uppercut from 10 feet out part of a "calculated offense"?

    That's not prime Fury though.
