Anyway never said Tszyu was small but he is certainly no giant. Kambosos was small at lightweight and is even smaller at 140. Opetaia also not a big guy for his weight so don’t worry about my energy lad.

He looks like a modern Terry Norris imo. Flashy, powerful, has the skill to box when he wants to, but he can get caught being careless. Need to see if he has a chin at 154 though

Look man, you’re making more excuses than Stan himself. Let’s just agree to disagree.

The usual suspects ALWAYS, and I mean ALWAYS loved to talk about the Klitschkos size advantage they had over some of their opponents so… I will not be shy about giving them “ThAT saME enERgy” when their little favorites come in way heavier and five inches taller :)

Also this size advantage tonight was way more obvious than Loma’s was against rigo. But they acted like Loma was 50lbs more. Lol Just sayin.

Being criticized for getting hit flush too much from a smaller fighter you dont really rate highly isnt a crazy criticism.

Besides that he didnt look overly sharp nor especially fast.

Honestly seems like a typical american boxer mold.

Have to say I do like what I saw of his mentality in terms of aggressiveness, but thats not hard to have when you are the much bigger more powerful guy.

    Anyways, upwards and onwards hopefully.

It's frustrating to watch a talented guy fight in such an undisciplined way. Save the showboating for when you land flush hard punches, do the work then put on the show. Not when you're missing most of your punches and getting caught flush in between. The commentators ate it up but he showed the same flaws as always, the poor defence and flashy inaccurate punches. The difference with Crawford is accuracy, he sets up and places shots. Boots fires fast and wild regardless if there is an opening or not. He has a lot of work to do to meet the hype.

Yep and Loma himself didn’t even want credit for beating Rigo.

Exactly he was getting hit on the way out not really showing that Philly style defence and against a big puncher that is the recipe for a knockdown and a concussion.

Well I still give Loma all the credit in the world for that whoopin. Mainly because he actually beat rigo down with skill and speed in that one. Didn’t even have to use his size! lol And rigo was the one that had to resort to elbows and cheap shots! LOL!:lol::lol:

Excuse for what? I'm pointing out the obvious. I'm disappointed in Stanionis, one bad round and towel thrown in. A Boots fan should be disappointed as well, he showed nothing new and the same flaws that will catch up to him. Nothing was revealed about either guy in the fight apart from Stan obviously not having the same heart for the fight that he had against Butaev.

This is my main criticism of his performance tonight. He wasn't getting tagged because he was doing anything reckless with his offense. He was getting hit because he was leaving himself wide open and his chin in the air. He's 30+ fights deep in his career, that sort of thing should've been ironed out by now.

And it's not like he was doing it due to a lack of respect for Stanionis' power or anything. He always has done this, at least in the fights I've seen.

I dunno, I don't wanna sound like I'm downing on the guy or anything. He isn't bad. But there are some glaring flaws that'll cost him dearly once he's in with the caliber some of the guys he's been calling out, like Ortiz or Crawford.

Yep, he needs to humble himself and get better. Rely on athleticism okay, but be better defensively. You never saw Roy Jones taking flush punches like that.

Realistically Stanionis should’ve had a tuneup before this fight after being so inactive but B side fighters are not afforded those luxuries. Heaven forbid I suggest this on a boxing forum as it might be seen as another excuse.

The first picture looks like she is trying to put her self in a head lock. Or possibly smell her own arm pit. Who knows?
