So is that why Boots won?

I think Boots would probably still have won based on the size and athletic difference that was shown but an active and non-expecting a baby any minute Stanionis could have tested Boots in the second half of the fight. This one felt like it never even got started. I only found out today about the baby, it's a bit predictable that they pull him out at the first sign of damage. It's not an excuse when you've seen the Butaev fight, He got hit and hurt far more over 12 rounds than in this fight. I wanted Boots to prove me wrong and show that he was on the elite level, and it just confirmed everything I already thought about him. Disappointing and anti-climactic all around.

I just caught up to this fight. The only thing I don't understand is the commentary....are they watching the fight? "Stannios can't hit Ennis whose in the matrix"? Stannios was landing when he punched. Jones Jr was in the matrix, lomachenko, not Ennis.

Still Impressive win by Ennis congratulations to him getting his second world title. I would like to see him fight Norman Jr. next ideally.

Yep. Plus the athletic advantage, and Stan quitting after one bad round. Boots still doesn't set up shots, still takes flush punches while standing in front of his opponent and admiring his work. The showboating in close rounds when he isn't landing anything needs to stop, he needs to become a more skilled and humble boxer or he is Broner v.2.0

i dont subscribe to the weight bully narrative. if you make weight, you make weight. we all have our own individual strengths and weaknesses. that part of boxing, like in life, has nothing to do with fairness. my critique was about the manner he was getting hit. he was eating shots in positions where he had no defenses. these were basic counters too easily timed, catching him with no guard.

Look , natural gift exist. There are guys that are faster , stronger, unbelievable stamina, arm reach, height, and....then their are guys that can cut weight. If you make weight you make weight.

Boots is going to murder Barrios if that happens. Barrios should probably take that fight though because I'm not sure how long he can hold on to his belt if he's drawing with Abel Ramos.

That my friend is called a EXCUSE.

Because no fighter beside heavyweight fight at their walking around weight.

They all cut weight, if Stan has a issue with rehydration, he should have put in a clause or not taken the fight.

Nothing worse than Hearn signing someone 20 fights into their career then being the first one to jump into the ring acting like he’s been there all along.

Your logic is flawed. To deny that Ennis had a size advantage is just ridiculous.

Unfortunately there are a lot of fanboys on here, I personally don’t give a **** about fanboying for another man, I’m just enjoying the boxing and prefer to be objective about what I see. Boots is a talent, and his performance against Stan was very impressive. What some fanboys don’t seem to like hearing is that he is a middleweight, fighting dudes way smaller than him, and getting hit fairly regularly. If he fights at his actual weight, heck even at 154, he can’t be taking as many shots he’ll have to tighten up defensively.
