    Top 50.

Probably top 30 given the huge size discrepancies he has had to overcome. He has proven once and for all that size is overrated.

But he has only had 22 fights. I feel that for a top 15 spot, you need at least 40 fights. Of course, we can't expect modern boxers to fight 90 or a 100 times. That is too much and will cause major health issues late in life.

I am a big fan of Usyk. He has tremendous skill, consistency and has overcome major size disadvantages.

But even though he has beaten some very good fighters, its hard to rank him as high as guys like Ezzard Charles or Muhammad Ali or even RJJ. Does Usyk have a lot of good wins? Sure. But do any of those wins mean as much as beating Archie Moore 3 times, beating a peak rampaging 1974 George Foreman, or beating James Toney in 1994? Probably not.

I would say Mairis Breidis is the most complete and best fighter he has beaten. Fury and Joshua are top 50 all time at heavyweight and he is 4-0 vs them. The win over Dubois is very good and is aging well (i would compare beating Dubois to beating someone like Ron Lyle).

The wins over Gassiev and Hunter may look very impressive on paper but those guys have done nothing since. I can't seriously rate beating Gassiev or Hunter in the same league as beating Liston and Frazier.

So overall, great fighter. Dominated a very good cruiserweight division. Has demonstrated amazing consistency. Always shows up and gives it a 100%. Never shows up out of shape. Never has any lackluster performances. The majority of his fights have been vs guys who were ranked in the top 10 in the world at the time in their respective divisions so he has prioritized quality over quantity.

I feel that he would need another 10-15 fights vs very good opposition to make a case for top 15. His consistency and ability to overcome major size disadvantages makes him a p4p great.

The concept of p4p is very flaky, it's basically a fairytale.. who would be better if they were all the same size etc.. nonsense really.. i debate it sometimes but I'm aware of its limitations & try not to take it too serious.. then u factor in how boxing has evolved over time too.. we went from 15 to 12 rounds.. same day to next day weigh ins (weight grifters).. PED advances.. we don't know how these modern fighters would ply their trade under older rules.. then more weight divisions & belts came along too making it easier to get a title... that's why I appreciate the old timers more these days.. it seems more pure & less convoluted.. having said all that Usyk is THE standout fighter of this era for me & his career has been pretty flawless. Dunno where i rank him but hes an ATG in my book.

Around or just below Michael Spinks - wherever you think he belongs. I think I had Spinks around 50. Both have had tremendous careers and phenomenal achievements.

The one thing that I point out about this though is that he hasn't beaten great fighters from the fact that no one has been able to beat him. Boxing depends so much on that paradox of greatness through losing....Louis-Schmeling, Ali-Frazier, Leonard-Duran, LaMatta-Robinson, Zale-Graziano, Pep-Saddler, etc.

Thus far, Usyk bossed a lot of very good challenges, and he deserves a different kind of credit for that.

Yes but alot of the fighters you mentioned already had very established careers and were arguably already considered great.

The likes of Fury, Joshua, were not even close to greats even before losing to Usyk.

They are close to greats now. If either or both manage to get to a third title, it is cemented.

Not even close Fury has only beaten 3 ranked fighters his resume pales in comparison to any Heavyweight classed as a great.

That is not true. Chisora was ranked every time he beat him, I think. Wallin was ranked. I THINK Cunningham was ranked. WilderX2 and Wlad. Hammer was ranked and it was an eliminator. I think even Schwarz was ranked.

It is true none of them were ranked in the top 10 when Fury fought them.

Only Wilder, Wladimir, Whyte, no one else you can check the rankings yourself online.

Usyk cannot get into the top 40 in my book. , 20 something wins in a career and your best wins are Joshua and Fury? Forget it,,,
