I'd like opinions on boxing crowds nowadays, Are they as excited generally as they used to be back in different eras? It seems that the crowds aren't quite as into it as they used to be but that's my perception and I'm kind of old LOL. I'm from the USA, and that's my slant here from what I see and hear.
Crowds in Saudi don't get as loud as other places with more ingrained boxing culture. UK crowds are lively. American crowds are maybe somewhere in between. The high cost of tickets to big fights is something that makes crowds more subdued as real fans miss out on tickets and tickets go to people who are there as a status symbol.
The crowd is always terrible in Saudi in which big fights have been the norm there but if it means we get actual good fights made - I'll take it.
I don't know man, watching the fights just doesn't feel the same anymore. In earlier days, the crowds seem to almost always be Electric and extremely into fight. I think even the fights themselves were fought at higher tempos than we have today. I'm not necessarily saying they threw more punches on the average, but the actual fights themselves seemed to be fought at a higher tempo with more tension and drama involved. Overall, everything seemed more electric and alive, from inside the ring to the furthest seat back in the arena.
