James "Buster" Douglas (1990, Mike Tyson) Vs Lennox Lewis (1993, Frank Bruno)

I think Lennox would inevitably win by stoppage in the later rounds, however i see Buster giving him alot of trouble and sometimes outjabbing him

 

Douglas isn’t going to avoid that right for long, and when Lewis does hit him with it, the fight will be over.

 

Good fight.

Think it would be pretty similar to how Lewis V Bruno went. With Buster outboxing and out-jabbing Lewis at times before being countered badly to a KO fairly late in the fight.

 

I'd take Lennox Lewis by stoppage.

The Douglas who beat Tyson was sharp, great jab, great movement and fully focused for once. But the version of Lennox from the Bruno fight was starting to hit his stride: big, strong, heavy-handed and still athletic enough to catch up to movers.

Douglas would have some success early with his jab and angles, but Lennox’s size, reach and raw power would start breaking him down once the pace slowed. Douglas wasn't known for being the most durable when guys really pushed back. Lennox was bigger than Tyson, hit just as hard and wouldn't gas out like Mike did in Tokyo.

I think Lewis walks him onto a big right hand somewhere around the 7th or 8th round and finishes it.

 

Douglas out jabs Lewis in the early rounds then Lewis finds his target between 6-8 and stops Douglas.

Whilst Douglas was superb vs Tyson he wasn't really tested in that fight outside of the knockdown out of nowhere.

I still feel if Douglas was tested even the Tokyo version you could see some mental flaws creep in like they did vs Tucker in a fight he was winning but then basically called it quits when the tough got going.
