This British forum subsection really is becoming like an Anti Matchroom cult

It's the 'in' thing to criticise Eddie Hearn/Matchroom/DAZN with this cliquey cult of the likes of ash234,bfcad, Beale, Astro (and others).

Saying anything positive about Hearn/Matchroom and their fighters doesn't go down well in here, negativity only.

It's not a good thing, you shouldn't really be following boxing on who a boxer is promoted by, and who's promoting the show.

 

I've got no real problem with Matchroom - they promote their fighters well and generate more income for boxers than any other UK promoter (barring the Saudi involvement).

The problem is they promote really unlikeable UK fighters and seem to revel in it, I hope it's a passing fad.

 

Benn winning is a disaster for boxing in the IK

 

I hope Eubank wins, Like some, I question his actual desire to fight for anything other than money though

I've watched some of the promos and its laughable that they are making Egg out to be some sort of destroying machine, its straight out of the Matchroom AJ playbook though.

I've quite enjoyed seeing Eddie getting wound up by jnr, hope he does it more this week.

Kind of expecting some stunt from Snr in the build up to the fight.

Their behaviour and spin over the failed ped tests, and the rehydration clauses are off the pale. They promote unlikable fighters and despite the eye test, we're repeatedly told this individual is a destroyer/the next big thing, somehow worthy of paying hard earned cash for the privilege of seeing aforementioned destroyer, on top of the already expensive pay wall.

If you're providing a service, and people give their honest feedback, then that's rather to be expected, isn't it?

I've no dog in the fight, I just want to see a decent quality boxing match, and I've been around the game most of my life, if I think a product is crap, I'm quite entitled to say so, I thought the Boxxer 12/10 round shambles from last week was laudable, as was the card on general.

Just my ten pence shipmate!

 

I wonder if he's still kind of caught between styles, trying to be a stylistic boxer, instead of an intense pressure fighter of old, I also worry about his durability at 160, given the rehydration clause.

He's been really funny and quite clever in the build up though.

I’m going to ignore my horrible gut feeling than Benn catches him early and really does a number on him and instead go for Eubank winning in a similar style to how Michael Watson beat Benn Snr

Many different views on here with the odd Matchroom FC fanatic flying the Matchroom Flag.

He is correct in that many, myself included, are negative towards Hearn but that is because I seen through him about 10 years ago like many others.

This Benn v Eubank fight for the Charlatan Bragging Rights should never be on Box Office for me and I really grudge an Egg Man making millions from the unsuspecting mugs who buy this fight.
