Next in action March eighteenth. Headlining the CountryBox #31 card. Six rounds scheduled at heavyweight, and the opponent still TBA. (but he was recently called out by Terrell Jamal Woods and seemed receptive to it) It will be career professional bout number seventy-eight for McCall. The very next month, he will turn sixty years old. It's his avowed goal for his campaign to reach four complete decades before sunsetting - which means he wants to compete on the 40th anniversary of his pro debut (11/02/1985), or after. He would by then be nearer to his 61st birthday. Godspeed, ya crazy old git.
After he smashes TJW, in my opinion the best matchup to make that is still intriguing without being way too much is finishing his trilogy with Marcin Mieczysław Rekowski. The now 47 year old Pole recently started a comeback after 6 years off. They swapped wins all the way back in 2014.
...aside from Rekowski, nobody else that McCall ever lost to has been active in this decade. (Krzysztof Zimnoch last fought in 2019, Francesco Pianeta in 2018, etc)
He lost a split decision to Fres Oquendo in 2010, I know Oquendo hasn't fought since 2014 but if we can get that match somehow sanctioned as an eliminator for the wba regular heavyweight belt, let's do it! Also, the first man McCall ever lost to Joey ChristJohn I believe is still alive....it's time for revenge https://www.naiahf.org/team/joey-christjohn/oneida
I cant believe the atomic bull is still alive let alone fighting. Pretty sure he had some pretty serious drug problems on top of taking shots off big hitters and being tysons main sparring partner at one point. The mans made of absolute granite. Not sure how many times hes been put over now but remember at one point literally no one could put him over hence being tysons main sparring partner.
Briggs' return is actually on the same monthly series that McCall has been competing on (CountryBox) - there are rumors of them maybe topping a bill this year.
Oliver McCall is the number 1 ranked HW with more losses than Chisora(1 more loss). Fun fact just wanted to throw out there.
they’re both old. They’re both former HW champs. They’re both still active. It makes sense. McCall’s last fight was against some dude who quit on his stool because he got clipped once by McCall’s right. Briggs would provide a bit more entertainment
was he ever even off his feet in his career? He was insanely tough. Somehow, him being alive, healthy, and still fighting makes sense. He may be one of those dudes who lives to 100 despite doing everything wrong.
