Leon is still the KING, in that regard. WORLD Heavyweight champ with only seven fights under his belt.

Usyk weighed 206 in his second pro fight (against a 208-pounder).

Leon was under 200 pounds even for the Ali win. Leon fought at a lighter weight than Usyk for a significant part of his career, often well-below the weight Usyk even fought at when he was a cruiserweight.

Leon weighed 197 for Ali, 198 for Coetzee, 200 for Holmes, 194 for DeLeon, 195 for Jesse Burnett. 204 for Mercado.

Leon weighed 190 when he fought Qawi for the cruiserweight title. Usyk didn't even fight at that low of a weight as an amateur when he fought in two Olympics.

I dont consider those as professional fights and those fights dont do much for me as far as Usyks historic standing

Almost no one else has the opportunity to. Usyk is great but lack of depth at heavyweight is something that holds him back historically as a heavyweight for me

I think it will be disappointing if Usyk ends his career fighting another British fighter in a rematch for the 3rd time.

If he adds someone like Parker or Kabayel to his resume that would be a perfect way to end his career.

But that is not the criteria that was given and not what I was addressing.

If you want to talk about good, legacy building fights, they won't follow any narrowly defined top ten. Klit, WilderX2, Whyte, Chisora, Wallin and Cunningham are all good, legacy defining names.

Again, there is a problem with the shifting of bars. Are we talking about top ten guys, ring top ten guys, the ten best of the moment (which I don't agree that the ring always nails) or or guys who give him "credit?"

Klit is a legacy win. A case can be made for Whyte to be a legacy win. Wilder is NOT a legacy win.

Looking at how Wilder was perceived at the time - it definitely is. It's Klit & Wilder, Whyte is an another consensus Top 5 guy he beat. And that's it. Bunch of small pickings besides that. Not even a consensus Top 10 guy.

I am the original Wilder hater, but even I say in context it's a legacy win.

I am programmed on a genetic level to criticize Wilder, so I am not going to argue it any further.

Usyk can fight on their turf, on their terms, into their judges and referees and into crowds roaring against him, against the best fighters in the division in the worlds and win. He can box and he can fight, he can outbox, wrestle and dance. He carries the weight of a wartorn country on his back every time he steps into the ring.

When it comes to Usyk and boxing. He should be talked about with the top 10 ATG's because he's literally completed boxing, including pro heavyweights at significant physical disadvantages. Nobody else has done what Usyk has done, Especially in the modern era.

Honestly, Usyk is beyond the current P4P list at this point. P4P inherently compares you to your peers. Usyk has moved into ATG/GOAT status. It's beyond obvious he's the best boxer of this generation. Going Undisputed at the top two weight classes, winning everything on the road, having everything stacked against him and overcoming it anyway, while also winning the rematches just to prove it wasn't a fluke. Throw in amateur gold, Olympic gold, 335 amateur wins to only 15 losses. Dude is on a different playing field from everyone else in the game.

You can't compare Usyk to Inoue or Bivol, Beterbiev, Crawford or the ones before him such as Jones Jr, Tyson, you have to compare him to Harry Greb, Sugar Ray Robinson, Henry Armstrong, Willie Pep, Muhammed Ali.

Olympic Gold, European Amateur Champ, World Amateur Champ, Undisputed Cruiserweight, Undisputed Heavyweight. Never beaten and the only time he’s ever been knocked down is when Dubois low blowed him. Usyk started as a middleweight if we count the amateurs and has been undisputed in every division he can be. He's definitely in the mix when debating the GOAT

How does perception trump the reality of Wilders resume? Perception gives Fury cover for fighting him but it can't alter Wilders accomplishments.

I think most people won't include his amateur achievements in this.

Why not? Olympic glory is part of the legend of guys like Ali, Sugar Ray Leonard, De La Hoya.

I agree it does matter. I am just saying I am not sure if people are including Uysk's amateur achievements in this ranking.
