Does anyone know anything semi verified about his drinking later in life? He certainly looked a bit like a drinker w the flushed, pouchy face and bloated body.

That’s just how apes look, but Mighty Joe Young let himself go later in life.

Have we addressed if it’s same-day weigh-in? Because the ape might be drained coming in at 460.

Aside from everything else that's wrong with Tunney's theory, his idea that gorillas might be vulnerable to body blows because they only have 13 ribs is just not true. Gorillas have 13 pairs of ribs - 26 in all, 2 more than a human.

Tunney: I came here to count ape ribs and kick ass. And I’m all out of ape ribs.

"Of course not, he doesn't want to see his prized gorilla get killed." Them Apes are worth more than $10,000.

Even the strongest human vs a Gorilla would be like the strongest 5 year old vs a full grown man.

Joe Frazier work rate is too much for a gorilla, tiger or swarm of wasps.

Are you kidding me, when that Ape gets a gander at Sonny Liston he'll jump out of the ring.

The claimed average height of Silver Backs is all over the place online.

Some claim 5 ft while others claim a bandwidth of 4’11” to 5’11”. Another claim was 5’5” when on all fours. If I checked elsewhere there would be likely a different claim again.

Average arm span, something like 91” to 102” thereabouts. That stat appears reasonably reliable. Their arm length is obviously highly disproportionate to their stature.

I have to wonder what “sweet”, superior, Homosapien move Tunney would have devised to avoid that charge (second vid)?

Of course his planned movement/pre med strategy would’ve also been severely impaired by him having **** his trunks in that very moment.

That in and out movement was on point.

Probably the point was Primo, but you get extra credit for using Harryhausen scenes.
