For the WBC Interim Cruiserweight title. Peralta is out, Pascal is in. Thoughts?

Time for retirement for Pascal, could he take a leaf out of his old (literally) conqueror’s book in Hopkins and win the title in his 40s? I very much doubt it, he doesn’t have the right skillset to take him into his 40s, he relies on explosiveness too much, which he could get away with when he was younger, he didn’t even have poor longevity, especially for his style, but I suspect his time is up.

Pascal's getting retired in violently epic fashion, this match if it doesn't end quickly, which it probably will, could be supremely detrimental to his long term health.

Never count Pascal out, remember his fights with Meng and his come from behind KO againts Osias in his last fight. He has high boxing IQ and is dangerous at all times

still IBF mandatory challenger after he got a step aside for bivol-beterbiev II is what i believe.

slippery slope though. Tua, Oquendo, E. Alverez, all did the 'right thing' by taking step aside money, get left on the sidelines and are now at the whim of the org they are mando with. don't want to fight and get injured or lose, don't want to make too much noise because then you may get pulled into another orgs ranking conflict...sit out wait for your chance...2 years later.

    but to the topic.

pascal is past it....but i think the loss to b-hop has sort of galvanised him to be a geriatric champion.

if he does get the win (smash wood, lick a rabbits foot with a side of four leaf clover, snowball chance in hell when hell froze over) Pascal vs Badou 2 in mid october?

I thought Pascal was back to working as a PIMP. I cant believe he's still fighting. He was shot in his fight against Eleider Álvarez back in 2017

Whatever happened to Eleider Álvarez? I dont remeber seeing him since the Joe Smith Jr fight. I thought he was gonna be hot **** at 175 a few years ago

Obviously I was being hyperbolic, hence pimp in caps. Stevenson was an actual pimp yes but Pascal did have an "incident"

Around the time of the Bute fight in 2014 Pascal got a woman drunk and drugged at a party at his house then pimped her out to his friends. She went to the police and reported it, Pascal fled Canada to avoid the police when they raided his house for evidence. Pascal offered her a financial settlement to not give evidence causing the charges to be withdrawn and then he returned to Canada

Boxing today has an overload of these dinosaurs hanging around .That they haven't been forced to quit by the talent level is evidence of how bad the sport has slipped
