I mean, the elephant in the room is that AJ beat Parker. And Klitschko. I like Parker and think he is building a good legacy, but no, he's not there yet. JOSHUA best wins WladKlit Parker Povetkin Ruiz Whyte Martin Pulev Wallin Breazele Helenius PARKER best wins Ruiz Zhang Wilder Chisora II (he didn't win the first and I am not including it) Meehan Bakole Takam Hugh Fury Botha Dimentrenko
It’s close. Both of their standout wins were against old shot men: AJ vs Wlad and Povetkin Parker vs Zhang and Wilder In AJ’s favour, he did beat Parker In Parker’s favour, his Ruiz win was against a far better version of Ruiz (and he didn’t lose to Ruiz either) Right now, AJ’s resume is still a bit better but Parker has more time to improve his and overtake AJ
Parkers win columm is better if we look the previous generation out of it. But AJs got the H2H and his 4 losses are more understandable than Parkers 3. Besides the Ruiz win the whole argument for Parker over AJ is based on Parkers 2nd title reign which is his last 3 fights. AJ was ranked higher than Parker his whole career until the Dubois loss. The Wilder win was great but Zhang finished Wilder. Parker almost lost to Zhang who Kabayel and Hrgovic also had comeback wins over. Parker beat Bakole when he had no time to prepare. I'm not sure these 3 wins overshadow AJs whole career because he didn't fight Wilder. Parkers over 2 years younger than AJ and hit the scene about that much sooner so its be expected he stays on top a bit longer.
I wouldn't be surprised if Parker overtakes Joshua in resume, but right now Joshua clearly has the edge. A win over Usyk would obviously slingshot him to the top. But realistically if he beats Dubois and Kabayel and wins and unifies titles he will be pretty close if not overtaking Joshua's resume. Joshua will always have the marquis Klitchsko win though, and of course the win over Joseph Parker himself.
Chisora & Bakole chin AJ for fun and probably Zhang also on that note, AJ is a bum and Parker rates higher Parker has been doing a tough paperound whilst AJ has remained a coddled bum his entire career Dubious didn't overtake AJ because he's some magic fairy with amazing boxing skills, he overtook AJ because he has the mentality and put in the grind against tougher men not wrapped in cotton wool. AJ will fold anytime he faces a puncher who isn't old or 5'2".
