100 percent not. Great fight that probably shouldnt have happened but had just too much going for it to not make once. But no second fight. Eubank is dead at the weight. Fought there since he was 20 years old in that time he went up to 168 for 5 fight before coming back down to 160 in his 30,s. Now 35 years old boiling down to 160. Its time to retire. I dont even think going up to 168 will help him at this stage. The boiling down for years has probably finished his career in terms of being any kind of contender at this point. Anything above 160 hurts benn worse anything below is now surely dangerous territory for eubank. Last night should be his last hurrah.
nah, they did all they could to screw Euabank over. Weight, ring size, gloves, rehydration claus,e and they still couldn't get it done. Eubank will hold more cards in the rematch, even though he's contracted, he could tell em' to swing and take a fine. So he will get more things in his favour so unless he fades a bit more, the result will be the same. Eubank isn't a young fighter anymore, he'd be a bit fresher up at 168 but realistically I don't think he has long left and the neither should be fighting at 160.
Now hearing from Twitter that Eubank is still in hospital from dehydration. Eubank should not fight at 160 again, it was a minor miracle that Eubank didn't sustain more damage. If Benn / Hearn insist on a rematch, Eubank should insist on 168, or at least a 164 catchweight, with no rehydration clause, or they can go suck eggs.
Yeah it was a fun enough fight. I don't normally like rematches but **** it, it was entertaining enough that I'd be down with seeing it again. Least no titles or anything would be held up by it... well, unless the WBA decide to revive their Regular title at 160/168 for the occasion
I'd happily watch and enjoy a re-match. But jnrs days at 160 are gone now. Plus at his age he's probably not got too many fights left in him anyway . Make it 164-8 It's another huge payday for both. Benn could then concentrate on furthering his career at what weight he's comfortable at and maybe Jnr could get another big payday cash out fight. It WAS a very entertaining first fight, if they both fancy another go, why not.
Sure, why not? It's not like Eubank Jr. is cut out for doing much else. He got brutally stopped by Beefy 2 fights back and badly rocked by a Welterweight in his match. It's not like he's going to pick up a strap at MW and he probably gets stretchered out of the ring at 168. Chris is shot, and the fact that he couldn't take out a pune like Benn is proof of that. So let these two go at it again, hopefully Benn wins the rematch, which sets up a third. Their level is fighting one another. That goes for Conor too, clearly his spate of KO wins have dried up since he laid off his mass consumption of eggs. He's too big for WW now and will have to stay at 154, which doesn't bode well for him either. Their legacy is entertaining the fans by brawling one another, so entertain!
