As long as Usyk possesess his powerful check jab, DDD doesn't stand any chances. Break out the knee pads.
I thought at the moment it was legal, but the ref thought differently. I wasn't and still am not upset because refs make or blow those calls all the time. Dubios had 9 additional rounds to do something but he didn't and was severely outclassed.
It was low. Both technically and for its obviously illegal effect. To highlight the fact that it was low, look at the disingenuous attempts otherwise to rationalise it as being a fair punch - the ridiculous claim that Usyk wears his trunks too high - absolute BS but embedded with the acknowledgement that it was low relative to where Usyk’s trunks sat. And that claim of Usyk wearing his trunks too high was made in stark contrast to the non address of how ridiculously high Dubois actually wears his own trunks - and let’s throw Fury in also in that regard. Fury put up a photo meant to parody Usyk wearing his trunks too high - but the photo only served to illustrate how high Fury actually wears his own trunks all the time, for Fury himself, the photo looked pretty much normal…..lol. Pivoting on the false claim of a fair punch, Dubois will try them on again, with Usyk perhaps at the short end of some peoples perceptions of what is fair and what isn’t. If Dubois lands a punch exactly the same in the rematch, it should be rinse repeat in terms of ruling imo, no question - but then there will be those who will claim he was ripped off again. As high as Dubois wore his own trunks, was Usyk so ill disciplined as to land so obviously below the designated line of Dubois’ own trunks?
Seems everyone in the thread is acknowledging the truth; that it was an illegal low blow. Simple indisputable fact.
