Good fight. Jones is seriously underated but with that said, prime Jirov was a beast. He would bust Jones up on the inside imo. I really like that era of Cruiserweights. I wish we could have seen Jirov vs Mormeck, Bell, Concrete Davis etc. Don King had most of the top Cruiserweights and he kept them away from Jirov and Gomez. Jirov vs Gomez is another fight that should have happened.
FOTY candidate. I feel like Jones at his best (possibly with PEDs in his system) would just outlast Jirov and stop him late or beat him up down the stretch for a decision.
Jones was a strange case. I remember when he was campaigning (and losing) at 154. Then, all of a sudden, he is about 50 pounds heavier, and winning. He had some really impressive results at cruiser, but, didn't really pass the eye test for me. Were his fights fixed? Or, perhaps he was just a better fighter after a growth spurt and lots of steroids. He was definitely suspect. But, he wasn't afraid to fight people. A pity his career fizzled out without any definite answers.

jirov was one of the best body punchers i have seen. jones is very good though. hell of a fight. jirov breaks his body down late for a stoppage.
