I was only able to see his fight against Ajagba after the 2nd round because I forgot to tune in, but what I saw was Bakole was 15 pounds overweight (compared to his fight against Jared Anderson) and because of the excess weight he is too immobile, same could be said in his fight against Joseph Parker back in February. If Bakole wants to succeed, he has to drop down to a sustainable but trim weight, around 260 and he has to learn to move more and focus on his footwork. He also has to cut corners and when he has done so, take advantage of the situation, something I also found he was at several times unable to do against Ajagba.

His hand speeds seems to be gone, Anderson didn’t see his punches but last night his hands were so slow with no snap and Ajagba took the punches well.

Hes just lazy he's pulling a Ruiz Jr but Bakole has more promise and he isn't making millions so why he's so lax is pure stupidity.

He ballooned up to 320 pounds over winter

Probably thought he could do a 2 month camp for his summer fight

Got a shot at parker took the money and got KO'd

It's literally just laziness. he prefers eating to training and that's a curse very few men shake it's a discipline issue.

Historically he has blown it but he might get very lucky given king Turki is very forgiving

Abaja definitely didn't take this lightly and he doesn't get horribly out of shape.

Fury hasn't got out of shape over this winter so what excuse does Bakole have?

I guess there always had to be a fat slob in the mix so Bakole has taken that role. It's a shame I Really like him and see the promise when he's fighting fit.

He's always been a deeply flawed fighter, I knew that as far back as the Hunter fight when I picked Hunter to beat him.

He has slow feet, he's easy to hit, his stamina is woeful and is only getting worse. The Yoka and Anderson wins flattered his true ability. Both those guys don't know how to counter so are forced to stand in front of you and lead, which suits Bakole. He'll always be dangerous with anyone that stands in front of him.

Having said all that I was surprised that Ajagba did as well as he did. While he's improved since the Sanchez loss, I thought Bakole would catch him eventually with something big. Right now Bakole is a low level gate keeper and that might even be generous. He needs to get himself back into something close to half decent shape. Coming in at around 300lbs is ridiculous when you consider he turned pro at 230lbs.

Yeah I know they are big guys by why so heavy I wonder.

Even Fury who is known to blow up in weight knows not come in that heavy.

If Bakole cant force himself to do proper job and get himself in shape in situation like that (after shamefull loss with no shape at all) he probably never will do much better.

Special when he have money now for party... And remeber that he was crying that nobody want fight with him. He just give all this boxer perfect excuse. Why they should give chance to someone who in reality lost 2 his last fights?

He needs to lose 30 pounds. Also should adopt a cross guard defence since his reflexes and head movement are non-existent.

He was never that good - just overhyped as hell for beating an overhyped prospect.

Gatekeeper at best, at his best - Ajagba is no better, really.

Just incredibly frustrating to watch. He easily wins that fight if he comes in reasonable shape, but apparently he gained even more weight after the Parker fight and only trained for 4 weeks. Zero footspeed at 300 lbs, made Ajagba look like a slick mover.

I'm gonna give him 1 more chance. Used to be a big fan, but if he doesn't come into his next fight in reasonable shape (not 300 lbs) I'm done with him.

Bakole had a couple of okay wins which made him a mid/strong gatekeeper at best but thats it really.

People started gassing and hyping him up for his physical strength, size and for being 'avoided' and more stupidly enough believing in the 'sparring stories'. Just look at Bakole's issues - he can't fight at all against someone with good feet, his stamina is mediocre, he's super hittable. I can't believe some people on here actually thought about a potential Bakole V Usyk fight in the future. If you're a decent boxer, even a mid gatekeeper at least, the blueprint is just so obvious to beat Bakole.

A lot of people on here bought a hype job in Martin Bakole. But a lot of us to be fair knew he wasn't that good in the first place.

I'm not a fan of Bakole but I think he is definitely too good to be a journeyman if he is regarded as a weak/low-level gatekeeper if you're being generous.

Apparently Bakole weighed 286 two weeks ago and gained 13 lbs since then, his trainer couldn't believe how heavy he was. Nelson also says they're finally gonna get him a nutritionist and a S&C coach, whether he likes it or not. Let's see if we'll finally get an in shape Bakole in his next fight.
