Yeah he must be pissed because he guaranteed him a title shot in 2026 and that's a hard sell if he's coming in at 300lbs and struggling with guys who might not be top 20 material. Bakole made a bit of money and has guarantees for future fights as a well as a title shot and that might have taken away what little motivation he had. I don't expect much from Bakole from now on, Turki needs to match him up carefully.
if I’m matching Bakole, I’m keeping him busy. 3 fights a year, 2 of which can be Congolese cab drivers. Just to try to get his weight down and keep him fit. Also, while slicksters are boring against cab drivers, sluggers like Bakole are not, so the stay busy fights would make good undercard material.
Bakole's trainer said in an interview that Turki told them Bakole's next fight is either gonna be the Ajagba rematch in July or a much bigger fight later on in the year.
I didn’t score it, but Ajagba started acting like a goof instead of maintaining a steady jab and boxing to keep racking up points and instead opted to allocate (and waste) energy on jumping around and moving like a poor man’s Ali, producing not much offense. So he probably deserved the draw.
Bakole only won 3 rounds lol Big robbery. Although Ajagba's running, cowardly tactic was annoying, it is legal.
Ajagba won: R1: Ajagba R2: Ajagba R3: Ajagba R4: Bakole R5: Ajagba R6: Ajagba R7: Ajagba R8: Bakole R9: Bakole R10: Bakole Bakole did take Ajagba too light. Ajagba has come a long way. I never thought he would develop like this. He did a little bit of everything in this fight. I got him ranked like this now: 1. Usyk 2. Dubois 3. Kabayel 4. Parker 5. Joshua 6. Chisora 7. Zhang 8. Hrgovic 9. Ajagba 10. Joyce
I believe that he's at least 35 to 40 pounds over being a fighter in trim fighting condition. He'd hardly be weight drained at 260 would he?
