You are right, one also has to ask, what would happen if Purrity, Sanders, Brewster or Peters was to land on Wlad.

Lewis struggled with a past his best Holyfield, Usyk would be that but much worse with twice the gas tank plus a southpaw

Vitali literally leaned straight into that Lewis uppercut. Still don't know how he took that punch.

No arguments man, although he beat Sam and avenged Brewster. Everyone mentions Wlad's chin but glosses over Rahman and McCall. I'm a huge Lewis fan, particularly with the benefit of hindsight. He beat every man he fought and you can't do much more than that, and that is the one 'paper' fact he has over Wlad. But would he beat Wlad? I really don't know. Lennies propensity to slip into his old ways and have a fight could cost him dear against Wlad. I think the best version of Wlad is too smart to get caught by Lewis, but the best version of Lewis still has that little bit of devil in him that might be his downfall. Oh...and both beat Usyk.

Chin. He had an Iron Chin. People don't have to like Vitali but you can't question his Chin. That was as savage a punch from a 250 pound Lewis who knew how to use leverage and Vitali took it. When Lewis landed that punch my eyes actually moved up like I was expecting Vitali's head to go flying off

Wlad gets underrated on this forum because he can be ugly to watch. However, fact is, he's got excellent fundamentals, great athleticism, he's huge, he's strong, and he's a massive puncher. If he'd been durable, he'd have been pretty much unbeatable. Seriously, imagine what Wlad with the durability and recovery of a prime Holyfield could have done?

Yep in mma if you break somebody's arm/leg it's a stoppage, despite some nutcase maybe trying to fight on

Lewis would have left vitali blind in one eye had the fight continued.

Any heavyweight can beat any heavyweight on their night! The only way to be sure is to have a fight

While i agree that southpaw is an advantage, it doesn't guarantee a win.

Usyk has never fought a heavyweight quicker than him and against the likes of Ali, Holmes and Tyson, he would be fighting men quicker than him. Especially Ali and Tyson.

Now i actually favour Usyk to beat Holmes slightly. But i remember Hunter having flashes of success with his jab and quick hands. Usyk managed to slow down Hunter with body shots but Holmes wouldn't slow down quite as easily.

Tyson may not have fought southpaws but on paper, he has all the tools to bother southpaws. Usyk jabbing vs Tyson could lead to him being nailed with a fast left hook over or under the jab. Usyk would be open to straight rights vs Tyson the way he was vs Breidis. Tyson threw powerful uppercuts with both hands. Usyk would have to be at the top of his game just to go the distance.

I don't think we can conclude from Usyk's 23 fight career that he would be automatically favoured over all the past atg's just because he is talented and a lefty. He has rarely faced anyone quick (even at cruiserweight, barring Hunter the guys he fought weren't especially fast).

Usyk is a bonafide atg but the speed and stamina advantages he enjoys vs SHW's would not be the same if he had to face men of his size. Breidis gave him a hard fight due to his skill, power and stamina. If Breidis can come close to beating him, who is to say that Ali, Holyfield, Tyson, Holmes etc. wouldn't have at least a good chance?

Id favour plenty of fighters to beat Usyk, Wlad isnt one of them.

So i disagree strongly with this thread abd it's premise.

I don't favour plenty, but I certainly don't favour wlad

Usyk isn't just going to let wlad bully him with clinching and throwing a jab and and odd left hook/right hand

Usyk takes him down the stretch, either by knockout or on points

Usyk is excellent, what a great fighter. The idea that he's the best of them all head to head apart from maybe Wlad is...yeah. No.

Harry Greb did very well for years fighting with one eye. So did Rocky.

Ali could beat Usyk his hands were just as fast and in his prime pre exile his gas tank was just as good.
    Frazier’s pressure could get Usyk.
    Tyson knocks Usyk out
    Wlad wins a clear UD

I see lot of love for Lewis on here in this matchup but he’s one fighter I think Usyk outboxes pretty clearly. Lewis never faced a southpaw of note, and didn’t have great stamina or fast feet. I’d give him a punchers chance.

I'm sure I'm in the minority here but I don't see Mike Tyson defeating Usyk. First of all I see Usyk taking away Tysons biggest advantage...intimidation. Second, Tyson will not be able to push Usyk against the ropes so he could land those vicious body shots. Third, Usyk has a better, deeper gas tank; late in the fight he'd be fresh and Tyson gassed and discouraged.

If Buster Douglas could out box Mike then so could Usyk.

Ali and Wlad have the best shots at taking the Ukrainian out and probably do so. Holy field, Louis, Lewis, Holmes, Vitali are 50/50 (Fraziers leaping left hook not useful against a southpaw).

This might seem crazy but Leon Spinks has a chance because he's so unpredictable.

    Everyone else falls short IMO.
