The fighter who throws more punches wins. And by that fighter I mean Pernell Whitaker. And it would be a pretty dull one sided fight at that. If it takes place in Argentina the fight most likely ends in a draw.
Most likely the former but who knows. Some of the footage that we saw of Locche against other great technicians like Ortiz and Laguna were pretty fascinating to watch.
Whitaker. Both are defensive geniuses, however Whitaker has a 'very good' offensive arsenal whereas I would class Locche as offensively limited (in terms of elite boxers). Some people forget that Locche was actually in quite a few stinkers against good fighters (which thankfully weren't recorded).
Whitaker, and I believe that the most interesting/entertaining part of the fight will be both of them clowning each other.
Hi Guys. Right now let me see, got my hot chocolate, got my sheep counter, got my white noise, got my blind folds, got my hot blanket on, feeling there is something missing .... oh yes the the fight, that should do it, night, night, Zzzzzzzz stay safe guys , chat soon. Mike.
It wouldn't surprise me if Whitaker went on the attack here & made this a more lively & interesting fight than would normally be expected. It also wouldn't surprise me if he gets cocky about seemingly being ahead, gives away the last rnd or 2, & then moans about only getting a draw.
Wouldn't count that out. Whitaker has had his share of initiating the action, fighting aggressive, in the pocket and throwing twice more than the opponents on a few occasion. Case in point his fight with Harold Brazier.
Pea beats Locche. More complete offensively and a higher workrate. Plus, the southpaw advantage. Having said that, don't expect a helluva lot of clean shots landed on either side.
Oh God yes… to the first thing. Locche like Benitez was really good at getting out of the way of punches but a lot worse at the other side of the boxing equation.
Whittaker uses his superior long range boxing and Locche isn’t aggressive enough, Whittaker wouldn’t fall into range onto the counters, he uses simple long range boxing and there’s not much Locche can do, he’s just stuck in the end of the punches waiting for the counters that never come. Locche doesn’t have the tools to beat Whittaker, he doesn’t extent his punches as well as Whittaker, so he can’t box with him and he’s also not aggressive enough or doesn’t have the tools to close Whittaker off and get inside. Locche is good on the inside, but he fights there when opponents take it to him and uses it to counter, he’s not a pressure fighter.
