I’d love to see Crawford pull the win off for daring to be great, but there are two relative unknowns that have a huge bearing on the outcome of the fight however, how will Crawford deal with the extra weight he will be carrying and how will he deal with the strength and power of Canelo ! On paper this is a Canelo win all day and we know he loves to feast on smaller fighters moving up as well as the fact he has also been smiled on by Judges in numerous fights .
I'm glad too that opinions have changed. I always liked this fight when it was first rumoured but most saw it as a mismatch and a cash out by Crawford. Now it will get the attention it deserves but in a good way.
I'm sure Bud will be watching the Bivol, Mayweather, Lara and probably the Khan fights religiously. I think Bud has the skills to outbox Canelo, but, as you mentioned, the new weight and Canelo's power are the questions that prevent me from being 100% on Bud win.
I can’t see Crawford hurting Canelo and Crawford isn’t exactly Mayweather in there. Crawford instincts are to meet aggression with aggression, Canelo pressures him I can see Crawford getting caught at some point. I favor Canelo, but rooting for Crawford.
I don't know if he's shot but he hasn't scored a KO since 2021 and that was an 11th round stoppage of Plant. He's went the distance in 7 consecutive fights. Canelo and Crawford are of similar size, Canelo is 5'7 to Crawfords 5'8 and Bud has a 4 inch reach advantage. I believe Canelo is on the downslide which is why he wants a fight with a welterweight at 168 and Canelo probably enters the ring at 180 plus pounds. Bud would have to perform a masterclass boxing performance to avoid getting ko'ed and at 38 I just can't see him pulling it off. He just lacks the firepower to discourage Canelo.
Crawford isn't the smaller man....he looks to be as tall if not taller than Canelo but Saul is stockier. Canelo's feet were stuck on refried beans this weekend....and slower than beans. No way in hell does Bud ko Canelo but he CAN win a decision by comprehensively outboxing so badly even the hand picked judged rule in his favor.
This is a very difficult fight to call. Buds age and recent performance have me hesitant to pick him, yet I believe he is the superior boxer to Canelo. Also, how does Crawford react when he gets hit on the chin by something decent? As of right now I'm leaning towards Crawford.
That's like saying Tommy hearns or margarito are bigger men than Mike tyson. Or michael spinks for a real example Weight classes exist for a reason and canelo is clearly the bigger more powerful fighter
Crawford's never fought at this weight. Crawford's getting older. Crawford may not have the power to hurt Canelo. Crawford's never faced a puncher like Canelo.......Blah Blah Blah Blah...... One thing that Crawford has done and dominated his ENTIRE career is naysayers suggesting that he doesn't have what it takes to get the victory over an opponent. He's been the smaller fighter MULTIPLE times in his career. He's been doubted vs multiple styles. His chin has been questioned all because of a misstep he had vs Gamboa. After all of the nonsense thrown out there...... Crawford came out on top. My money is on the man who has yet to be proven wrong. We saw Canelo get dominated by a smaller Floyd. We saw him get outboxed by a man who literally has a suspect chin in Amir Khan. We saw Canelo get questionable decisions over opponents like Lara & GGG 1. We saw Canelo have zero answers when plan A isn't working like vs Bivol. None of that applies to Crawford who many come up with multiple reasons why he would come up short vs an opponent, yet Crawford gets out there and DOMINATES them and shows that the opponent isn't on the same level. Then all the discrediting occurs suggesting that fighter wasn't anything great anyway. From the moment Crawford beat Prescott to people saying the Ricky Burns fight was too big a stage, to people claiming he'd be schooled by Viktor Postol, to fans claiming he was moving up to 147 because he was scared of Indongo, to people saying he was too small for Jeff Horn, to Crawford not being tough enough to deal with the pressure from Shawn Porter, to Crawford not being able to withstand an attack from Errol Spence Jr., to Madrimov being too big and athletic for Crawford.............. And yet we are still looking at Crawford 41-0. He has spent the last 9 months preparing for one opponent who we know now he will officially face in September. All of his doubters have been proven wrong 41x........Until Crawford shows me that he is in over his head, I'll continue to believe he will do exactly what he says he will do and he said he was going to show the world that he can beat Canelo........ I'll be front and center to see him do it.
