The talent pool of the 1970s just doesn't compare to today. A prime Muhammad Ali is a worse version of Michael Hunter. If a prime Foreman were teleported to today's era he would get overpowered by a freight train like Chisora. Quarry and Frazier are light heavyweights, they can't compete with these monsters today. Norton is too chinny and would get destroyed by everyone in the top 30 due to size and power of the modern heavyweights. Even the big and strong Sonny Liston is a cruiserweight and would get outboxed by Joseph Parker

In addition to that all sports evolve and the training methods improve. The elite skill level has never been higher and the sport is global now. Logically this era has to be the most talented that we've ever seen

    SHW Anthony Joshua physical attributes:

    Height: 6'6

    Weight: 250lb

    - Has never been hurt by a cruiserweight

    - possess punching power that approaches the human limit

Does anyone have a realistic chance of winning against joshua?

    Joshua wouldn't lose a round
They were terrible and small back then

Only usyk can beat these titans of today
Ali, Foreman, frazier and Norton get obliterated in a single round

Everyone would knock him out in a round or 2

Maybe he gets to points with a top 30 ranked

Seriously though Joshua would still be a strong contender in the 70s. He would be huge for the time, strong, and Joshua can punch very hard.

But he would still run out of gas but instead of halfway trough the fight it would be before the halfway mark if they fight over 15.

I think in any era Joshua will produce some brutal knockouts but he will also have some crushing defeats. In large because of his tendency to freeze on the big stage.

I can see him knocking out Frazier early stylistically. But no way is he the one to KO Ali. Ali will drown him in the Championship rounds and finish him before the final bell. He won’t be able to mentally handle Foreman and he will get knocked out early.

Foreman was still beating world-level guys in his mid-40s in the 1990s. Chisora was at best a European gatekeeper-level fighter. Even with the boxing evolution theory, Foreman would probably still beat him.

AJ would be a Top 5 guy in the 70's. I can't see him beating Ali and Foreman tho. He may beat Frazier but he may also lose to big punchers like Ron Lyle and Earnie Shavers, but that's 50/50. Some matchups like Jerry Quarry and Oscar Bonavena would be fascinating too. I would put him as a favorite against any other 70's heavyweight until the prime Larry Holmes comes along.

He's be top ten. Only fighters that I would favor over him are Ali, Foreman and Holmes. He'd have a good chance against everyone else and would probably knock most of them out.

"A prime Muhammad Ali is a worse version of Michael Hunter."

True. Prime Michael Hunter doesn't go life and death with Karl Mildenberger. But then again, Karl was from a much weaker era so it's not fair to compare.

Prime roid Chisora in a small ring mauls and destroys glass chinned LHW Moorer.

    Foreman's a 50-50, Joshua beats the rest.

    Yeah AJ beats probably all.
Problem is the Ruiz fight. That one showed a fat LHW could beat him if he could take some shots. So it's hard to be 100% sure.
Fury and Usyk obviously beat them all though.

This forum is something, Joshua wouldn’t have even taken the left hook that Cooper knocked Ali down with.
