If AJ fought in a 15 rnd. era he would probably train for 15 rounds.

George Foreman said "The men I faced in the seventies were more fearsome than the ones I faced in the eighties and the nineties, with the exception of Evander Holyfield. Evander could have competed in any era."

    This thread is a shame
I can get the SHW narrative. But with Joshua getting KO by a 6ft obese, outboxed by Usyk twice how can someone pretend he would dominate the Golden era?
And about Chisora everyone seems to forgot that he got KO by Haye who isn't that big himself

Andy Ruiz would have been called "The Snickers Giant" in 'the old days'.

Didn't he beat Joyce too? I mean, that's not too bad.

So, Moorer outpoints Holyfield and loses to Dereck Chisora? Not sure if you're being serious or joking.

He'd obviously be a fighter who had mixed success, but I doubt he'd ever be champion.

He isn't being Ali, Frazier, Foreman or Holmes.

Id favour him over Norton ans Leon Spinks though.

I do see Jimmy Young beating him.

From a physical standpoint AJ is an elite athlete and would be an even bigger outlier in the 70s. His weakness is more mental then anything. Maybe coming up in the 60s and 70s would have made him tougher in that respect.

In one sense, this is unsurprising. Foreman faced the best the 70s had to offer. He never fought Tyson, Bowe, or Lewis in the 90s. Holyfield was the other best guy of the 90s, and Foreman praises him.

That said, it is just a little dubious to claim the 90s guys weren't that impressive when even a fragile borderline top 10 guy from that era like Morrison -- who isn't even some master boxer -- can easily outbox you.

6ft was enough to be the "Galveston Giant"
