Muhammad Ali (Prime) Vs Mike Tyson (Prime)

Ali defeats Tyson before the fight even starts. Mike won fights through intimidating his opponents. Ali would come up with a nickname for Mike, taunt him mercilessly pre fight in all the pressers so much that the mentally fragile Tyson is a wreck entering the ring.

People this Tyson will hurt Ali with hooks to the body? Ever hear of rope a dope?

Ali busts up Tyson with lacerating jabs, stops Mike late.

Your first paragraph sums up what I've always thought it is a vital and overlooked aspect of this fight.

Ali would've been deep into Tyson's brain, with it dawning on Tyson halfway through the fight that he can't win this fight, prior to him then being taken apart and stopped.

Ali beat a prime George Foreman. And that wasn’t even close to the best version of Ali.

So, regardless of styles making fights, there is nothing Tyson has in his kit bag that remotely bothers Ali. The best version of both fighters sees Ali running rings around Tyson and giving him a boxing lesson like nothing else.

Ali in a shutout. 12-0 or 15-0.

When both were asked this question they said the other man would win. Intimidation won’t work, the only man Ali said he was scared of was Liston.

Only FOTC Frazier in my eyes beats pre-exile Ali, unless he gets careless for a moment that’s only when Tyson can capitalize.

 

I think that this would come down to Ali out thinking Tyson, and possibly cheating. Jab and grab, hold and hit, head butt and low blow. Frustrate and **** talk. Get Tyson off of his game. The best predictors that I can see come from Ali vs Foreman and Tyson vs Holyfield. Both were fast, but Ali had better height, range, and movement. Tyson was stronger but Ali had an atg chin, iron lungs, plus ridiculous stamina.

 

I'm not seeing what others are seeing Tyson would be a live grenade for 5 or 6 rounds and even afterwards Ali can get caught and hurt, he's been caught and hurt by slower. Ali would win a highly competitive decision after some scares, this is one of his hardest fights.

Ali is quite a bit overrated in regards to fantasy match ups, people saying Tyson has no chance lol. You have to be realistic about these match ups instead of going off the label, Ali struggled with pressure fighters more compared to other styles

 

Tyson is a better version of Frazier. More power, power in both hands, faster puncher, faster feet, threw multi punch combos, heavier.

Tyson wins. Ali can't run away the whole fight.

That's absolute nonsense. Nobody could do that to an 80s Tyson. He's not invincible and likely loses to a few guys, but every round? Lol no chance

 

The two guys who beat Tyson before he was shot were Douglas and Holyfield. They pushed him back, held a bit and caught him with some good shots on the inside. Ali clinched a lot but was not good on the inside at all. It's a bad match up for Ali.

Tyson fought a few stick and movers like Tony Tucker but the ones who actually beat hin were those who weren't afraid to trade and dominated him physically. Ali never pushed Frazier back.

 

for all we say that, Ali has admitted he was scared of Liston at their weigh in and that’s why he started shouting at him, to try to build up his own confidence.

i think everyone feels fear. The true mentally tough balls of steel guys use it. “I’m afraid of you? You should be afraid of ME”. That kind of thing. That grit. Ali, Holyfield, etc. you can read accounts of soldiers on the battlefield having attitudes like this.
