Lol... I lost out on $300 because mma fighters have a boxing fetish. So sick of this modern stupidity where grapplers forego their entire strengths and advantages so that they can lose a kickboxing match. I dont know how stupid you actually have to be to spend years chasing the championship, finally get your shot and win it, largely on the strength of your grappling, and then **** it all away on your first defence in a fight you probably would have won, but lost because you wanted to be a boxer. And whats worse is this boxing fetish mma and its dumb fans have costs betters money because the guys that should be grappling their way to a win, arent grappling.
Edwards swept Belal a bunch of times, i dont think Belal was ever a good top ctrl specialist. That's why Leon looked so bad against Brady , but looked like a decent grappler vs Usman and Belal, both of them are wrestlers who like to cage hug you to death, but they are no Khabib when it comes to top game. Plus Jack was an excellent scrambler.
Belal didnt start to grapple with intent until he was already busted up (which is why he started to) towards mid/end of round 3... he then wins round 4 because of it. Theres little doubt in my mind he wins if hes shooting consistently from round 1. Jack would have been more tired, would have had to been more cautious of the takedowns which would have helped belals standup... belal would be taking less punishment, ect. Belals game is based on grappling and he spent 3 rounds kickboxing a superior striker. Dumbest gameplan I think Ive ever seen in my entire life.
he would have had to cage stall JDM for the whole fight, i don't see it happening, Jack is really good at not accepting his position and fighting out of it to get back to neutral. I did originally have it for Belal, but as i did study tape, i knew JDM had a good shot, younger and better hands.
Drake... belal lost 3 rounds to 2 when he spent the first three rounds fighting to Jacks strengths lol. Your literally trying to make a case for the absurd notion that if the grappler would have grappled from round 1, he wouldnt have done better, in a fight where his best success came when he grappled. That makes no sense at all. None. JDM will always win a kickboxing match with Belal lol. Belals best round came when he started grappling... thats a fact. The idea he wouldnt have likely won one more round had he not been fighting JDMs fight for the first 3 and had been on his game from the first round is, just odd. He wouldnt even have to stall that much or have much overt success, just mixing it in consistently would have done a lot to get jdm more cuatious of the takedowns, help take some punishment off of belal, help tire jdms legs out, and would have won more points then getting pieced up. It was 3 rounds to 2 with Belal catering to JDM for 3 rounds. He even continued to do it when it became obvious JDM was piecing him up and softening him up. I dont know what else to say lol. Pretty sure most observers know Belal pissed that fight away with a horrible gameplan. Anyways, have a good night Im off to bed. Sidenote, congrats on the bet winnings. A win is a win.
he won rnds 1 and 3 Jack took rnd 5 . I didnt win much, but i sympathize, i know it sucks to lose money, i lost a lot in one night b4. so i hope you have better luck in the future.
No, he said to his crner after round one that JDM was too slippery to take down, JDM was too big and strong and had too much reach.
