Whew,! 2 fighters who could fight at a top level and also unexpectedly stink it up .. I'd say Pinklon is the favorite but if he's got his pipe Carl wins a boring decision.

Thomas from the Spoon fight outboxes him.

The Thomas that fought Tim Witherspoon was a very very good fighter ... maybe the only one to beat a prime Witherspoon in a fight Tim has no legit excuses to lose ... that Thomas would have beaten a 1984 Larry Holmes in my opinion and been too strong for Williams ..

Two outstanding left jabs from these men. In 1984 I’d have to make Thomas the favorite. That was the year he soundly outboxed a prime Tim Witherspoon. Williams was still pretty green in 1984 and was decked twice by quick Tillis.

Thomas by UD or Late round stoppage. Williams wasn't ready for Thomas at that point in time.

Yea I think Thomas might have been the best heavyweight of the 80s besides Tyson and Larry.

Williams was a blip on the screen in 1984. He wasn't ready for this type of competition.
