If Usyk wants to fight Joshua or Fury again after beating Dubois, he must vacate his belts. There are many active fighters who should be in the title fight, such as Parker, Kabayel and even Itauma. Few people enjoy watching fights they know the outcome of.
Usyk doesn't duck challenges, so if he keeps the belts? I expect Parker or Kabayel next If he fights Fury or Aj next and defends titles? He's just a money grabbed ducking another challenge That's fine, the majority of boxers do it, but let's call it what it is If he fights Parker next? Then he deserves all the credit and although I still won't have him goat, I would at least acknowledge he does chase legacy Let's see what happens if he beats Dubois. I sincerely hope Fury doesn't skip the queue, as Parker deserves it
Inb4 the 'Usyk can do what he wants, he's earned it' crowd, even though they criticise Canelo for doing the exact same thing. I love Usyk but the fanboyism and double standards lately have become absolutely shocking. If he misses Parker or Kabayel then it's not a good look. And no, this does NOT mean Usyk is being called a ducker for his entire career, nor is it a personal attack on the man. Some are definitely fans of the man rather than just heavyweight Boxing.
Since 2016, Usyk has given the fans the best fights possible. I wouldn't blame him for avoiding Parker at 39.
Yes . We can only give deep respect for his massive resume of fighting not less than a total of 5 opponents at heavy . Witherspoon , chisora and a kid dubois were massive fights nobody forgets . We should be thankful to have such a champion
Which fight would you prefer to make if you were 38 years old and in the end of your career: Fight AJ and Fury for the 3rd time and get paid $100M. Fight Parker and Kabayel and get paid $10M. Please be honest.
The figures might not be accurate but I get the point. I personally think Kabayal and Parker are easy fights for Usyk same for the AJ fight. Fury certainly asked questions first fight and I actually thought Fury nicked it, but there were a few swing rounds so I can see why Usyk won.
We have to be real I'm going Usyks route. He's focused on the money but he's 38 so I won't blame him, another rematch does nothing for his legacy but many apparently think he's the goat so Usyk doesn't need to risk his 0
The victories over Chisora and Dubois have aged well. The July 19 fight is legitimate; Dubois is the number 2 in his weight class. Usyk has beaten Joshua and Fury twice, both of whom were the two best heavyweights of their generation.
Lol, Itauma has done nothing to come near a title shot. Stay on track and apply in three years. Parker deserves his shot, and if Usyk fights on Kabeyal after that, although at some points, he deserves an optional like everyone else.
This is idiotic. He beat the two other best heavyweight fighters since 2015 in four fights, and the third Dubois, he beat in a fifth fight and is rematching him for undisputed. It is a magnificent accomplishment.
Would have been nice if Fury and Joshua had proved their status in the ring rather than having to rely on hypotheticals.
Uh, this is delusional. Purely. Fury beat... WladKlit Wilder X2 White Chisora X3 Joshua beat WladKlit Povetkin Parker Ruiz Whyte That divides up the other players in the division before Usyk came on the scene, and later Dubois. I am not sure you quite get how this is done. A fighter's quality is not just what you imagine it is. This is a pyramid, with Usyk at top, Fury, Joshua and Dubois underneath, and various guys like Wladklit. Povetkin, Wilder, Parker, Whyte, Chisora, Ortiz and Ruiz a notch below that. Usyk is proven in a way that guys like Larry Holmes, Jack Dempsey, Floyd Patterson, and the Klits never were.
The AJ and Fury trilogies aren't worth $100 million; Usyk has beaten them both comfortably twice. Joshua's stock has dropped dramatically since that Dubois annihilation. There's more money in the Parker fight than a third Joshua fight, especially if Turki gets behind it and pays them.
