Then there's the context of 'losses' like an ancient Duran against Paz, The Macho etc. Imagine if Duran had these results in an official historic capacity? How he'd be rated even higher?

Duran takes Bud out in 6 rounds. A once in a century boxing phenomenon.

Ali over Foreman is the greatest single win. People thought Ali was actually going to get killed in there and there were people begging him not to fight George.

As far as the thread. Duran easily.

Not disagreeing with anyone speaking on the depth and wins of Duran.

Just to be kind to Crawford though, I don't think modern boxers would have much chance to have the kind of resume guys in Duran's era (eras, lol) had.

Duran is really in a very special group when it comes to boxers that went beyond what you'd expect of an all time great.

All that said, as far as skills, it seems that both are incredible masters of the trade and Crawford will probably be studied by future boxers (and already is) just like Duran is.

Both have skills that suit what makes them special, so when considering who is technically the greater 'boxer' by those margins... Both are amazing.

duran. both elite, both climbed up the divisions. but duran did it against much tougher fighters and across more divisions. and he is just better as a package. duran is a top 10 p4p of the last hundred years. i would have to make a list to see if bud makes a top 10 of the last 30 years.

duran beat srl and palomino, after having started at 130 lbs. duran is an inch shorter than bud and has an 8 inch reach disadvantage. p4p and inch for inch, duran is just more impressive.

So 1 A-grade win over a post-car crash Spence trumps a win over a prime Sugar Ray Leonard?

He still beat one of the greatest fighters of all time after going up two weight divisions. Spence was a decent champion of his era and nothing more, not even top 100 in the all-time P4P. Crawford's resume will not be kind to him once he retires and after Canelo stops him.

Let Crawford try staying undefeated against SRL.. fkin undefeated.. are we meant to be impressed cos he beat the shells of Khan, Brook & Spence.. & he nearly got sparked by Kavaliasukas anyway.. Duran would cook prime versions of these fellas easily

Durans career defecates all over Crawfords.
