The fact he never mentioned a rematch nor called Byrd about says it all.

It couldn’t possibly have anything to with Don King isolating his roster from the K bros and Lewis.

    Don King wasn't involved.
Byrd was under contract with Universum and they made him fight Wlad.
Vitali had no interest in activating his clause proving there was more to the loss than a sore shoulder.

We’re talking about after Wladimir beat up Byrd.

Ike's two are better. But Vitali beats Ike. And Tua.

OK we have four fighters here, so let's rank them.

In terms of their overall careers:

    1. Chris Byrd
    2. Sam Peter
    3. Corrie Sanders
    4. David Tua

Sanders and Peter can be swapped, but apart from that I am happy with the order.

In terms of their standing on the night in question:

    1. Sam Peter
    2. Corrie Sanders
    3. David Tua
    4. Chris Byrd

Obviously all of the wins are conclusive, except Ike's win over Tua, which could perhaps have gone the other way.

I don't think so. Although Tua began to rally and started to crack Ike past the 4th round, Ike was still holding him off bay with the jab even in close quarters and was overall dictating the motion of the fight. I scored it 118-110, giving him rounds 5 and 9.
I scored this fight a long time ago so I might rescore it and come back

Corrie is also the only guy out them who proved he could pull off a major league win in style.

I think you’ve pretty much explained your poor scorecard. Clean power punches should be paying bills, and you’re looking at other criteria.

Byrd beat a top 5 heavyweight in David Tua 2 fights prior to beating Holyfield. Stop it.

Vitali had no interest in Byrd.

Lol Definitely this! :D Well… the Vitali beating Ike part anyway

The thing with the Tua win is that fight actually could have gone to Tua! I always thought that one was real close. There has been times where I watch it and thing… “Ehhh… I don’t know I think David landed the nastier shots and a little more often” but then there are times I think Ike’s jab won it for him.

But in any case… Fact is Vitali absolutely dominated his two best wins and stopped them. While Ike arguably lost one. I think they are pretty close in this category.

I always thought that masterful beating Vitali put on shannon “THE CANNON” Briggs is one of his top wins easily. That roided up Briggs would take out many on both Tua and Ike’s resume! Lol

Tua was an eliminator to fight Holyfield and there wasn’t another one. Stop it.

Vitali could have fought him at various points but did not want to. Just admit it and move on to your next obnoxious dealing.

Tua was an eliminator to fight Lennox, not Holyfield, but since Lennox vacated Holyfield was put in place to fight for the vacancy.
