Jim Lampley calls Pacquiao's upcoming return fight with Barrios "sad"

It really is sad. He is my GOAT but man...

I mean the Ugas fight was legit forgivable even though he looked like he could get stopped in the later rounds. In his advanced boxing age, he managed to look GREAT leading up to the Spence fight (best he's looked in quite some time) but at the last minute got dealt a bad hand. Probably messed with a LOT mentally.

But the shape he was in recent years, even though they were exhibitions and ofc he didn't have a training camp, he looked every bit if not more than his age. He looked slow, soft, dull, and beyond shot.

I know he's having some money problems but I hope its not the reason he is coming back. He is known to love the sport and wanting all the smoke, so I just hope its the latter, makes a good chunk of change, gets blown out and comes to terms with himself and enjoy retirement with better financial management

 

If this is a legitimate fight,,"and I have my doubts", it could resemble Roberto Duran vs William Joppy...

 

Stuff like this hurts boxing’s credibility. It’s not just that he’s back, it’s that he steps directly into a title shot that he obviously doesn’t deserve.

It cheapens the notion of “champion” and is a shameless cash grab. I most definitely will not watch.

 

The Joppy fight was a sad one. But at least Duran was active during this time and even had a win over Jorge Castro who was still somewhat relevant

 

From memory his calves were cramping. Tightness in the legs could definitely hamper performance, didn't show much mobility in that fight. Could also be an excuse who knows.

 

it is sad. One he should have made enough to retire. Two he does not deserve a tittle shot.

 

Barrios got floored and beat up by a fringe contender in his last fight who had lost 3 out of his last 5 fights.

Yes I don't want Pacquiao to comeback but if Pacquiao can produce some of the old magic I still think he can win this fight even being 40 percent of his best.

I'm not seeing Barrios as this real dangerous opponent who's going to dominate Pacquiao I think people are forgetting how bad Barrios looked in his last fight.

 

Sad is the perfect way to describe it.

 

Pac is walking on his heels.
Polite for punch drunk.

 

He should have quit after Thurman. It was the perfect way to go out.

 

Just a cash grab after losing the elections. He's gone full clown sadly.

 

They need to get him on that A-side meth XD

 

I think the Pac that lost to Ugas beats Spence.
