There's an argument to rate 1993 Bowe over 2024 Fury, yes, but Holy lost 2 out of 3 against Bowe, with the losses being much clearer than the win. Usyk is 2-0 over Fury.

If you want to argue that Holy's 2-0 against Tyson weighs heavier than Usyk's wins over Fury, I'm all aboard, but his 1-2 to Bowe doesn't.

I rate Bowe as a better opponent due to the stages of their careers that both fighters were in.

Bowe was prime where as Fury was shopworn and coming off an abysmal performance vs an MMA fighter.

It's still a good win for Usyk in context but I'd still rate Holyfields win over Bowe better due to Bowe being in his prime.

Yes the losses do have to be taken into account and do effect Holyfield’s ranking somewhat.

But I still think Holyfield has many more quality wins and should be rated above Usyk at Heavyweight based on that.

Usyk has Chisora, Joshua x2, Fury x2, Dubois.

Holyfield has Dokes, Thomas, Douglas, Mercer, Bowe, Foreman, Holmes, Tyson, Moorer, etc.

I don't think the few losses Holyfield suffered in his prime is enough for Usyk to overtake Holyfield in the all time Heavyweight rankings simply because Holyfield has too much of a resume at Heavyweight.

Don't have an issue with Holy above Usyk, right now I think I would agree. And as I said, Bowe '93 could well be better than Fury '24. They were both protected and inconsistent, which makes their actual level hard to judge.

My point was only that Usyk's 2-0 against Fury is better than Holy's 1-3 against Bowe. That's an easy one for me. It's Holy's other wins that probably give him the edge.

Of course 2-0 is better than 1-2 I was only saying 1993 version of Bowe is a better opponent than 2024 Fury and you seem to agree with that aswell.

I don't have anything else to add we seem to be pretty much on the same page.

He has Ali at #2. That makes a kind of sense if you don't have Frazier or Liston in your top ten.

I certainly can't say you're wrong, but hard to know because of both of men's inconsistency. The Ngannou performance was one of the most embarrassing in boxing history, but dismantlig Chisora on half speed the fight before ages like fine wine.

And while Bowe hadn't had anything Ngannou bad at the time, his resume was wafer thin besides Holy. Resume wise Holy's win over Bowe is only great because Bowe beat Holy. The worth of that win is down to the eye test of Bowe. So it's what one chooses to look at.

So personally I couldn't say, but see nothing wrong with going with Bowe.

I think the debate will go on forever just how good the wins over Fury was. Especially if Ngannou stays his last win.

I would imagine when Fury's done most people on his sub will probably see him as a top 30 or top 40 all time guy.

Feel like the guy kinda blew his potential really but that's also how many people see Bowe.

I think Foreman could have done with more title defenses.

But yeah his achievement of winning a heavyweight belt at 45 is insane I think it will be a long while till we ever see that again.

Top 30/40 seems low for Wlad, Wilder, Whyte and Chisora x 3. I certainly think he has a better resume than Bowe, frustrating as his career has been in parts.
