If the premise behind this thread is taking 175 or 168 Canelo against a welterweight Floyd the outcome is simple: Canelo puts a ****ing hole through him.

Let's be serious for a moment. You want to put a hulk version Canelo against a stringbean version of Floyd? Canelo will walk through his punches. Yea yeah, Mayweather is faster. Doesn't change the fact that Canelo will still connect and when he does, his punches will shake PBF down to his boots. Floyd has NOTHING to hurt Canelo with. This version of ginger is even bigger and more bulked than the version that went 24 rounds with GGG at 160.

Weight classes exist for a reason. Hell, Mayweather could have fought GGG at 154 but dodged that fight as fast as he could. Again, as Floyd's dad said "my son isn't going to fight a damn giant". How much more giant is 168 / 175 Hulknelo, still dripping radioactive roids?

Asking Floyd at welter to fight 175 Canelo is like asking Canelo to go up from 175 to heavyweight and wondering if he beats Usyk. Not happening.

Because Floyd was a boring spoiler, Usyk comes to fight, constantly coming forward, against far bigger opposition.

No, Bud has far more power than Floyd and can stop fightes with counters, he`s far more dangerous than Floyd wa a fight southpaw/switch-tting etc.

He also got dazed by Gamboa and Kavaliauskas and has mediocre defense in comparison

I don't know for sure but he literally 10-2ed Canelo give or take which is very convincing.

But he facing Canelo with another 15 pounds and more powerful and experienced. But also Canelo's best was probably around 2015-2021 time rather than now were he seems to have slowed down.

Kavalliauskas is underrated, but yes Bud does have poor defense however his offensive skills are far better than Floyd`s, he`s a better combo puncher that can switch-hit etc.

Floyd wasn’t in his prime at WW.

    But it doesn’t matter.

How offensive minded and aggressive would Floyd have been, vs an elite level SMW?

Canelo would have walked him down with power punches.

And whether he’d have hurt Floyd or not, he’d have backed him up and put him on the defensive, which would have nullified his own offence.

These are good points. I think Canelo is entering his 'old fighter' phase where he's lost that speed edge but is just very experienced and strong. Speed kills but savvy is important too.

Prime Mayweather barely loses a round against Crawford, let's be real. The bigger question is whether he would actually fight him, or if he would wait for years before Bud slowed down.

Prime Floyd couldn't put a dent in a shot Sugar Sweet Hands Logan Paul but he schooled a prime Clenelo whilst in first gear so that tells you everything you need to know about Clenelo's level and what a prime Floyd would do this shot version of him

You forgot the numerous "retirements" which got him away from mandatories and rematches.

Canelo has slowed down so much that he wouldn't be able to hit Floyd in the ass with a handful of gravel.

He still struggles against guys with good footwork and educated jab. Never improved on that.
