They should match him up with some other glass cannons for some guaranteed KO entertainment. The Babic fight is still one of the greatest things I've ever seen, getting wasted in 20 seconds, doing the good old spaghetti legs to boot.

People saying his career is over is laughable

This. I don’t recall anyone saying he was going to be a world champion. So he lost a fight. He will no doubt rebuild and go again. Not every fighter can be elite, but if he can sell a few tickets and make a few quid then fair play to him.

Bud you know him personally so are understandably sentimental towards him which I completely respect.

I have been critical of his skills as he is stuck in the mud with his footwork and is very hittable which is not good for someone who campaigns in the heavyweight division. Plus he is promoted by a very brave promoter with his stable who couldn’t match a pair of socks.

The harsh reality is that Fisher couldn’t get past a guy who has been in and out of retirement for the last 5 years, has never taken the game seriously conditioning wise and he himself doesn’t think he can win the British title. So what level is Fisher actually at?

He’s obviously a good guy and no one wants to see him get hurt. He’s an accident waiting to happen.

Hearn's sales pitch and the fact he is headlining cards comes with higher expectations and the harsh reality is that he really should be an undercard fighter matched with guys at his own level which is currently below or up to English Title.

Nothing wrong with that and every boxer will find their level when they climb up the career ladder.

The boxing ring can be a lonely place when one literally falls flat on their face.

Hearn has done his job making good money for his fighter but the spin and lies is obvious to most boxing fans resulting in much delight when he is proved to be talking shyte.

Just waiting on his latest big thing Connor Henn hitting the frying pan face first then rinse and repeat for whoever is lurking round the corner.

I mean a boxers career is only over when no governing body will sanction them to fight (which is always far too late, see the tragedy of modern day Danny Williams); as long as a boxer can get a license they can continue on if they wish, but that isn't really the question we should be asking. The questions we should be asking are: What does a given boxer want to achieve?, Is there a realistic possibility they could achieve it?, and, Is the risk to ones health in trying to achieve it worth it? From what we have seen of Fisher he won't progress beyond British level, and even if his goal is to just collect the British title the odds don't look too pretty for him and he will take a lot of punishment in the process. Fisher has done a good job of promoting himself and has made more money than his talent would ordinarily justify, add to that he is an educated and clever lad and could probably do well for himself outside of boxing. Is the certainty of further punishment worth it for a career that can only realistically peak at the English, or more remotely British, title; I would say no, but that is for Fisher to decide for himself.

    It's really quite easy

Kill off the expectation, fight on undercards for a year or so against lower level competition and then evaluate

He still has money to earn in boxing that he wouldn't earn elsewhere
Him and his family aren't stupid, they have always maintained he isn't a world beater
A domestic career is hardly something to be ashamed of

It’s hard to kill off expectations when your entire family lives and earns vicariously through you on social media. Even harder when your promoter sees a guy who just sold 7,000 tickets — that kind of commercial pull makes it nearly impossible to slow things down.

Personally, I’d run down the Matchroom contract as fast as possible and make the switch to Misfits. They’re crying out for a heavyweight who can carry the brand, and the Fishers would fit in perfectly — they could make millions off the back of it, no real pressure, no illusions.

If he does stay in the sport seriously though, big changes are needed. I saw a clip from the press conference with Tibbs shouting about the money — he has to go. Not just for that, but because Johnny clearly regressed in the rematch. Even Dave said if he’d gone at him properly — especially after perforating both his eardrums — Dave might’ve folded himself soon after.

The pressure didn’t just come from the fight — it came from carrying the weight of his family, the "Bosh Army," the hype. And he crumbled under all of it.

Depending on how the Matchroom contract is structured — whether it’s by fights or years — Hearn will likely throw him back in deep sooner rather than later, especially if he can build toward a trilogy with Allen. But unless they reset everything, he’s heading for more of the same.

They should get a bunch of these famous names to make the local belts famous. Allen etc at British or English level.

Fisher is probably area level, but he'd give the belts a bit of prestige.

Like we had back in the day with the fabulous four: Skelton, Williams, Sprott and Audley

Misfits is probably a good level for him and he could make a fortune fighting the likes of Jake Paul.
