What if they clashed in the late 80s/early 90s. Also, why didn't they fight?

I think by the time Ruddock emerged as a contender in 88-89, Bruno was already locked in to fighting Mike Tyson. After losing that match he took 2 years and 11 months off. He returned and was getting his footing back again while taking on a few tune ups. All the while Ruddock had rose to prominence, fell and then took a hiatus himself . I chose Ruddock to win by KO on the poll but not with much conviction. Both of these guys were in great shape, could punch and had a lot of heart. Would be an exciting fight either way

Really solid choice for a fantasy matchup. They have very similar career records. 40-5-0 for Bruno and 40-6-1 for Ruddock. According to BoxRec, they were both 6'3" with an 82" reach. They both lost twice to Mike Tyson and once to Lennox Lewis and each man has some solid quality wins on his resume.

In some ways there is not a lot to choose between the two men. For me, Razor handled big punches and big punchers better than Frank did. I am going with Ruddock by KO.

I'm actually going to take Bruno here. Ruddock did better against Tyson for sure, but he had that kind of wild style that allowed him to do so. I feel Bruno's more orthodox, straight up and down style works well as a foil for Ruddock. I dont think Razor gets in range for his 'smash', Frank bashes him up with his heavy jab before dropping the boom around round 5. Styles make fights. I dont think Razor is quick or skillful enough to 'do' Frank. Huge fan of both guys by the way. Ruddock was fearless, wasn't he?

I actually think Bruno has the big edge in the footwork department and he stays in his range for the W. That and the woeful punch output of Ruddock could see Frank winning a match like this.

Sure would like to see Razor working on his footwork going into the bout. which he won't do--even with like trainer #6. But taking quick steps would get him in range. But the way I envision the bout is seeing ruddock getting in his proper range is > getting tagged and Bruno stepping in to capitalize. If Frank plays it smart--and he has the boxing iq advantage in this--and punches and moves, he wins.

The Rudock that threw that smash punch rather than early version is a sucker for a right hand. The jab keeps distance .Bruno by KO

Ruddock by stoppage but if Bruno connects with a big right early aka Lewis, he could win. Still, i think Ruddock recovered better when hurt.

This fight would be super charged, both men could get pumped up before a fight.
My heart says Bruno but my head is saying Ruddock has the more resilience.

If both bring their A game, this would be an instant classic.

    Razor by late stoppage.

Ruddock by Mid-To-Late Stoppage after Bruno smacks him about for a few rounds.

I think Ruddock has better durability and has atleast shown he can fight on when he gets knocked down or hurt.

Anytime Bruno got hurt he froze like a deer in the headlights.

I think Ruddock gets floored by Bruno but overall wins a shoot out due to having better durability and recuperative powers.
